Vickie,

Do you have a pic of one completed, I don't know if it is my computer or what, but I couldn't see the pics or patterns and only a minimal amount of the writing.

Thanks,

The Cathedral Windows Christmas ornaments are beautiful. I've tried making this pattern for a quilt but my efforts were not very good. Do you have any tricks or tips? Also, where did you get the pattern for these ornaments. I'd really like to try to make them. Thanks. Happy Holidays to one and all. Love this site! Randy

I'm a new quilter but I'm "hooked!" For my quilt guild friends I'm making Petal Pin Cushions...For my mom and sister I am making 8 pointed star tablerunners. I've also been working on some purses (Red Hat Purse for a cousin and an "uptown" purse just cuz I loved the fabric! Happy Holidays to one and all...keep sewing!

Hi, I'm pretty new to quilting (about a yr)

I made a table set that consisted of 4 placemats, 1 tablerunner, 2 trivets, 4 napkins and 4 needlepoint napkin rings, and 4 coasters. It's for a very good friend.

I also made 6 crazy patch stockings. This was my first try at crazy patch and it was a load of fun.

I made a puff quilt (not really a quilt but they call it that) it's more like a comforter

And right now I'm finishing up a mantel scarf for my sister.

Hi Judy Gail: I just took a machine quilting class and I loved it but I'm still not great at it but plan to practice until I am. A couple years ago I made pillow shams for our bed out of eyelet and white cotton fabric. They turned out really pretty and sure make the bed look "dolled" up. I'm sure your daughter will love the ones you are making for her. Keep on sewing!

Happy Holidays. Randy

Me. I just finished a pair of yoga pants for my son. He's the instructor.
I just received a call from a friend who used her longarm to quilt the queen top of a quilt going to one of my granddaughters. Will get it tomorrow and get the binding on.
And lastly, I made two red and green plaid taffeta, tiered skirts with white eyelet showing as a petticoat for a grand- and great-granddaughters. Saw the picture and just had to copy. Purchased the shirt and stockings to complete the outfits. Both of these young ladies are "girly-girls".
MAY WE ALL REMEMBER THE REASON FOR THE SEASON. Suzanne

Hi Randy.....your table runners are beautiful (I made a similar 8-pointed star runner a couple of years ago). Your pincushions are also very pretty. Can you post the directions for them?

The directions for my Cathedral Window ornaments are already posted. Go to the top of the Main forum and click on search. Type in Cathedral Window and the page will come up where my initial posting was. When you go into posting click on download.

Randy, The instructions are located further up in this same post. I think on page one, but not sure. Just go back thru the topic and you should find them.

Thanks for posting pictures. We love seeing what others are doing. Those tablerunners are going to make lovely gifts. :D The pin cushions are so cute. I may try to find a minute or two extra time to make some myself!

To answer your questions about the Cathedral window....I learned how to make it years ago (made a pillow using this pattern). At the time I was not crazy about all that hand sewing. This summer I was recuperating from surgery and found that I now enjoy doing the hand sewing. I knew there had to be a way to make an ornament but I couldn't figure it out. A friend of mine who is also a quilter said she knew of directions for using that pattern to make a pincushion. We just took those directions and made it as an ornament. Norah and I discovered that you can not have any preconceived ideas of how this should go together. SO... follow the directions very carefully, one step at a time. Do not try to get ahead of yourself.

Good luck
Judyjo
