I'm RVing this weekend at a state park. But, brought the little FW. I made two halloween treat bags for the grandchildren that came to visit us. Cut out from a panel and lined them. Hubby loaded them with goodies.

I'm going to make a manikin pin cushion for my sis. She has her studio designed with manikin's.

arimuse 10-23-2011 06:42 AM

gosh, for someone who's retired you'd think I had all the time I'd ever want. No big sewing here, but when I can steal a small chunk of time - usually at night - I'm trying to make hand sewn Christmas ornaments, sharet

cny_sewer39 10-23-2011 06:44 AM

I am stitching my blocks for the my betty boop quilt. I only have 3 more different blocks to get the corners stitched. I also am doing a bom @ my LQS. In addtion, I am making 2 outfits for my niece. Of course, if I ever get off of the computer long enough.

Anxious to this when you get it finished. I've never hand pieced a quilt. What size is it going to be? I admire you for doing this. I wouldn't have the patience.

I finally finished a Bassinet make-over all it needs is a bow and hand-stitch the binding on the quilt that goes with it --DRATS--never mind --I was just informed I still have to do the canopy, Well so much for thinking I could take the day off to do something else besides sitting at the machine

My weekend goal is to finish the queen sized denim quilt I have been working on.

Krystyna 10-23-2011 07:53 AM

I got two new loveseats and haven't finished the throws I started for them (2 dogs who think the furniture is for them) so I found a box of 2" strips I got at an estate sale and am whipping up something FAST.

I'm getting ready for a retreat with my quilt guild next weekend. so, I am trying to get that all organized. taking 3 classes, plus have another project to work on. Way too much for the weekend I'm sure.
Can't wait to go. Will be my first. My DD is going along as she is a member too.

Deborah12687 10-23-2011 08:19 AM

I am working on my Thanksgiving place mats and a table runner for Christmas of Grandma's flower garden. In between sewing I was trying to organize some of my totes by color. I sure wish I had more room for my stash.

Anna.425 10-23-2011 08:24 AM

I am reorganizing my office so that I can get my sewing table into it and set up again. Number 1 Son moved back so my sewing room is no more.

BCaplette 10-23-2011 08:24 AM

I am working on a lap quilt for my livingroom. I was given several books of upholstry fabric samples a while back. I took all of the blue, green, beige and white samples and cut them down make blocks. I am going to the store later and buying some backing fabric. I hope to get some suede or something soft for the back since the top has lots of texture. I can't wait to get it done. :)

No stitching this weekend, I'm afraid. Yesterday morning it was time to clean out the garage. Made a mess of it this spring and summer when we moved everything from the basement to the garage while the basement was waterproofed and then put in a family room down there since it's dry. LOVE it! Then daughter and son-in-law dropped off 11-week-old grandson for us to watch for the night because they had a wedding to go to. Loving it but have so many projects in the works. Have a baby shower present to finish by Wednesday (swaddling blanket, matching burp rags and bib); two hooded bath towels with embroidered designs for a friend; quilt for infant daughter of DH's coworker who was born with multiple health issues and is facing another open heart surgery soon; quilts for each of my new grandsons and more burp rags for them, also. Want to have all of these done before Christmas so I can move on to new projects.

I am baking, on the board, and working on my GFG wall hanging. Hope everyone has a great week-end.

Annie68 10-23-2011 09:25 AM

I'm machine quilting a solid brights, split rail fence, twin size. I'm about to start the border now, need a bit of a rest, therefore here I am!

GGJudy 10-23-2011 09:35 AM

I am finally to the applique stage of a color wash wall hanging with beautiful echinacea growing and reaching for the light. I got the pattern from Keepsake quilting.

I'm also working on wine gift bags and wine cozies that were featured on Connecting threads. I have four sons and they and their wives all enjoy a good glass of wine every now and then. I thought these would make really nice gifts (along with a bottle of wine in the gift bag of course).

BettyGee 10-23-2011 10:02 AM

Working on my USMC quilt that I am making for my BIL. My DH has been such a great help on designing this quilt. It started using a Churn Dash block and has morphed into so much more. I now have to applique an American flag and seven USMC seals to each section. Must admit it is going to look fantastic, but as I'm fusing the applique pieces on the blocks I'm thinking of the time it takes to add the decorative stitching around each piece. Whine, whine and truth be told I'm loving every minute of it. So instead of sitting here at the computer I'm going to get my body down to my sewing machine and do some serious work.

Wishing everyone a wonderful week ahead!

I just finished three traveling checkers games and am trying to start a table runner, but not having the fat qtrs the pattern calls for am trying to figure out if the scraps of this perfect for the top fabric will be sufficient to get it done. My brain is tired now & I'm taking a break! Will try again after supper or a nap whichever comes first!

I am currently working out a challenge I set for myself, to turn a cross stitch pattern into a quilt. I have it stitched, but I will never again use that iron on stuff with the squares marked off. It left a black nasty residue all over my new sewing machine! Poor "Pearl" has black smut all over her face! I have no idea how to remove it!

sorry the picture is sideways.

Any ideas how to get this ick off of Pearl's face?

This is the chart I used. I added to it, and altered it, but it is nearly the same.

Charity sewing -- yesterday was sewing day and I FMQ'd 40 small children's quilts for our local hospital. Tonight will be two pillowcases to send to the person on the board with the daughter doing a senior project donating pillowcases to a children removed from their homes.

Then on to my own projects!
