I love making HSTs. They are so versatile... so many patterns/layouts with them.

First of all, Thank you for the link to the 3-d flying geese block. It looks like so much fun to make and no math simplifies it.

My favorite block to make is the Pinwheel block. I think it has a happy look to it when placed in a quilt. :)

Mine are log cabin and a block that has some hand embroidery in it.

Pinwheels, any size

I love the Churn Dash. And it’s easy to make a bunch of them with my Accuquilt cutter.

I love to make Churn Dash, Pinwheels and hearts. Since the heart motif is my favorite I have made quite a few quilts with hearts in them.
Rff1010-very pretty quilts and it sounds like you are hooked on quilting. It is a great hobby and you have done so well.

Ricky Tims introduced the one seam flying geese ten years ago on The Quilt Show and I thought it was the best thing. I started making them that very day. He was shown how to do it from a group of quilters in England. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=78Mu0C_QL8Y
Suzanne McNeil has two books using this technique. The Five Minute Quilt Block https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIxl3af3lzY and the The Ten Minute Quilt Block. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZbTHlGGKMPM
I taught how to make the Five Minute Quilt Block at a retreat. Fastest class I ever had. LOL
Here is a chart of sizes for the OSFG https://secureservercdn.net/166.62.1...ing-chart1.pdf

Yes! The Ricky Tims method is great!

I don't have a favorite block. I love pinwheels but they sometimes give me fits. I love a lot of different blocks.
My goal is to make a New York beauty someday.

I signed up for the Ricky Tims Quilt Luminarium, think originally it was going to be in March or maybe May. Anyway, one of the first things that got cancelled due to Covid. It's been rescheduled twice now, I think we are currently hoping to be able to do it in February 2021...

While maybe not my favorite to make, my favorite to use are Snowball blocks. I've made more than probably any other block, usually combined with alternating blocks or just as little sashing squares, or as an all-Snowball quick baby quilt I've done it more than once.

Otherwise, Log Cabins and variations are probably my most repeated block.
