I have one in an old book that is called Judy in Arabia, love it!!
Stars, stars and more stars! The Ohio star is my favorite. I also love to do stack and whack because no one is ever going to have one exactly like mine.
I've done 3 Log Cabins because they were easy and 2 Lone Stars. I think those two are my favorites of all the ones I've done so far.
Ohio Star and Sawtooth Star. They draw me in every time! I also love Flying Geese, and Log Cabin, and .........
I love Log Cabin. It was the first thing I fell in love with and so versatile. I also like Grandmother's Flower Garden. My grandma had one...so pretty.
I can't think of all the ones I like. I have made up lots of my own. If I find a print the is just to pretty to cut up I just cut it in two or four pices, put sashing to separate them put a border or two on it and call it done. I use a large stipple quilting on it.
I like all the variations of the 9-patch. And since I've been on the AB, I love the D9P.
The one I have not tried but really want to is Storm at Sea.
I love rag blocks cause they are so easy. I have made at least 6 rag quilts.
What is my favorite block? I had to stop and think about which blocks I have used in numerous quilts. Let's see, I have made many Mariner's Compass; Giant Dalhia; Lone Star (Star of Bethleham); Snail's Trail and Trip Around the World quilts, but only one New York Beauty and one Double Wedding Ring. Although the DWR was a king size in shades of green (not my favorite color), so maybe that's the reason I made only one. But I must agree with the others, the Log Cabin is so versatile, that I've made so many quilts for the family, they could open a retail store!
