I'm pretty sure I just saw QN at Joann -- but if you have a Hobby Lobby nearby check them as you can use your 40% Off coupon on mags there.

Quilter's Newsletter has gone through many changes in their 45 years of publication. The first issues actually were newsletters; I still have them along with most of the issues that followed. They are quite good at keeping up with the times and aren't afraid to change and grow even without any change in the editorial staff. They have always looked to the future and that's one of the reasons I like it so much.

They have exceptional columnists covering a wide variety of topics...machine quilting, modern quilting, embroidery, appliqué, etc...and are one of the few magazines to offer challenging patterns alongside the easy ones, something that is appreciated by experienced quilters. The market is so flooded with magazines full of fast, easy, simple, quick quilt patterns that it's really nice to have one or two that have expanded options. :)

My new favorite is BLOCK. 2nd issue has come out. Missouri Star Quilt Company in-house produced. Otherwise, my favorites have been Quiltmaker, Quick Quilts and Love of Quilting by Fons & Porter.

The letters for Newletter are usually smaller and in a different color so many times you do not see the whole title at a glance.

It sounded like a newsletter but later on I read where it was a magazine. I checked my local newsstands and could not find anything with that name. Did I get the name wrong or is it not available at newsstands. Had never heard of the magazine and wanted to check it out. Everyone seemed to think it was wonderful so I want to check it out.

I subscribed to Quilters Newsletter for years, but finally let it go because the quilts got to artsy. I am NOT an art quilt maker. I can look at them and appreciate the work it took to do them, but it is nothing I aspire to. I love my block quilts. I'm surprised no one has mentioned Quiltmaker magazine. Bonnie Hunter has a column in it monthly and I love the quilts I see in it. Fons and Porter seems to have gone over to the advertising gods and are not what they used to be imho.

I love the Block magazine from Missouri Star Quilt Company. Quick quilts and Quilters World are also good. Block is the only one I take now. There are videos on Youtube that show how to make each quilt in the book. I think that is nice too. It helps to have the book and actually see someone make it. Jenny Doan has such a nice presentation.

Quick Quilts and the Love of Quilting are my favorites. I think I must be the only one that wasn't too impressed with the Block magazine. Mine was the spring issue 2. not sure for the price I'll keep the subscription.

QNM is an amazing publication. It is packed with inspiration, stunning quilts and information tutorials. It really helps me to be more creative in my work. I like to try the skill builders in QNM.

Lots of people say it is way to skilled for them but how else do you learn and improve and especially, be creative? I certainly don't want the least skilled person as my teacher! I like to see what the best of the best do and then I can temper it to my skills.
Hope you find a copy and enjoy it. Let us know what you thiink.
peace

Block by MSQC is my favorite and the only one I subscribe to. I like having the printed pattern and the You Tube video. I am a very visual learner.
