What is your favorite Quilting Magazine?

About a week ago someone asked what the favorite quilting magazine was an the answer from many of you was Quilting Newsletter. It sounded like a newsletter but later on I read where it was a magazine. I checked my local newsstands and could not find anything with that name. Did I get the name wrong or is it not available at newsstands. Had never heard of the magazine and wanted to check it out. Everyone seemed to think it was wonderful so I want to check it out.

Quilters Newsletter is a magazine and most places that sell quilting magazines sell it. Grocery stores, WalMart, pharmacies, Safeway - I think I have seen it all over. Maybe they were just sold out where you checked. I always get them from our library and very rarely buy it. I love looking at all the lovely quilts and reading the articles, but I don't have the skill to make most of the quilts featured in that magazine. Good luck finding it and I hope you enjoy it!

My friend gave me a subscription to Quilters Newsletter but it more of a newsletter than quilting magazine that normally contain a variety of quilt patterns. I am enjoying McCall's' Quick Quilts and also I subscribed to Quilter's World. They give you access to past issues on their website.

I have subscriptions to Fons and Porter, and American Patchwork and Quilting, and like both of them.

I have way to many subscriptions and will let most of them expire.
Will keep Quilt It Today, Fons and Porters Love Of Quilting, AQ, and Block.

I subscribed for a short time to Quilters Newsletter - but the quilts in that magazine are way above my pay-grade - almost like show or art quilts - I prefer American Patchwork and Quilting, Fons and Porter, McCall's Quick Quilts and Block magazine - more along my lines of taste and skill.

I have had every quilt magazine subscription at one time or another. If you are a new quilter you will love them all.
I go to Barnes and Nobles once a month and read all the quilt magazines and buy different ones each time. The only one I subscribe to is Block magazine.

Quilters Newsletter Magazine has been around for several decades. I was a subscriber for many years. About ten years or so ago the original editor retired and the magazine changed quite a bit -- fewer how-to articles and more news about quilt happenings around the world. Their cover always features a spectacular quilt, but directions are not included; it's more to show what can be done rather than how to do it. Anyway, here is a link to their website:

Edit: The reason it's called "Quilter's Newsletter" is because when the original editor started it, she printed it herself in black and white. It was quite a few years before it went to color, and then it got bigger. I still miss her from the quilting scene; she had a remarkable eye for quilts.

I don't have a favorite. Have never gotten one.
Seems to me that there are plenty of patterns online and plenty of inspiration everywhere!!!
Moreover, like Otis pointed out, some of those things are too involved, like painting with fabric - too tedious, too many small pieces with 4504 pieces of 256 different fabrics. No, thank you;)
