I love scrappy quilts and I basically stick with 30’s reproduction fabrics and Civil War fabrics. Red is a basic color in my stash.

Since most of the quilts I have made were for other people's homes, I have used thier likes and dislikes to guide me in my choices for them. But, when I think about it, I love the old southern style quilts. Bright, happy and lively pieced designs with a pattern that has a secondary design that emerges when you set it all together. The fabrics and design are important to me. I want there to be interest from far away and from up close while sitting under it. I really feel that quilts should spark a certain amount of the imagination to invoke some thought. Knowing all of this information, I am sure most of my quilts do not reflect on my personal style except perhaps what I percieve to be thier style and comfort zones.

I don't have a specific style, don't think so anyway. I do lean towards more traditional, scrappy, outdoorsy looking fabric with trees, wildlife, etc. I always think I kind of go by the seat of my pants. See a quilt I like and do my own version of it. That is what I like about quilting, you can do your own thing with fabric.

Good morning, I really lean toward the traditional scrappy style, I desire to one day be a great free-motioner. That's another topic for a thread. Thank you for the opportunity to express myself
Happy sewing everyone--cherrybsixty |
