I coached Varsity Girls Swimming and Diving for my local High School for 7 seasons. During that time I started using the computer and needed a handle the parents and girls could easily identify. Just too lazy to change it now....... really miss the girls!

Baysidegal 08-03-2011 03:15 AM

I live in a lovely coastal part of Warwick, Rhode Island. An area known as Bayside...thus Baysidegal. Not to be confused with Bayside, NY thank you very much hahaha...One of my best friends who I have know forever actually lives in Bayside, NY so we are actually both "Bayside Gals"

My real name is Christine, but my mother often used the European version ... as in ...

Mom walks into living room and notices a huge splotch of orange paint all over the new blue floral sofa slipcovers she just made.
"Krystyna, Krystyna. What is this? Well, that IS a lovely painting of a pumpkin you've made."

Mom walks into my bedroom and sees me hard at work on one of her old skirts, snipping away with scissors in hand.
"Krystyna, Krystyna! My goodness! Isn't that a fancy hula skirt you've made."

Mom passes by the hall closet and notices a sign I enthusiastically made to remind me of the schedule for my soon-to-start violin lessons. It is affixed with to the lovely oak door with glue meant to repair shoes and has a fancy leather frame made from my father's old belts.
"Krystyna, Krystyna! Oh! Oh ... Well, now no one will forget your lessons for a long time. Oh. Oh, my."

So, in keeping with my quilting qualities ... I decided to use the ID Krystyna. Mom passed away many years ago, but with each quilt I finish, I can hear her say ...

"Krystyna, Krystyna. Oh my. What have you made
here ..."

MY NEPHEWS THAT I BABYSITTED FROM 4 WEEKS UNTILL THEY STARTED SCHOOL COULD NOT SAY ARLENE SO THEY JUST CALLED ME WEENWEEN.THATS HOW I GOT MY NAME.

Edie 08-03-2011 03:21 AM

Are you ready for this one? My nickname is Edie. (I do not like my baptism name - Edith Clare). (I do like Clare).I can't think of a handle that would match me, except maybe Dork once in a while. So, I am Edie, my handle is Edie and that is all she wrote!!!!
Edie

PS - If I get mad at myself I just say, in disgust, Edie Clare. It sounds so much like I declare!!!!!!
