Hands - my daughter saw these hands on the internet that were used on infants in hospitals in nicu and older children too. They are stretchy and filled with tiny plastic beads so they can be shaped. When you rub a childs back until they fall asleep but take your hand away and they wake up, you are supposed to be able to used these hands. I traced my husbands XX-large hands, used swimsuit fabric and tiny plastic beads for stuffing. You can help the baby stay on his side while sleeping when he is little too. forget what they are called but I don't think she every used them after all the fuss that she had to have them.

A pirate costume for my goddaughter.

I once made a Halloween costume for my son. He was an alien sticking out of his spaceship. The spaceship even had blinking lights.

I made my daughter a hula girl costume to ride in a bike parade and attached a giant palm tree to the back of her bike.

Costumes are such fun!

i made a baby holder for the swings at my condo as they were not baby swings.

I made a table protector with pockets for remotes on one side and magazines on the other for hubby's new extra large end table. He loves it & shows it off to anyone that visits.

I probably better not post the exact details, but I've made a few adult-themed gag gifts in the past! :shock: :oops: :lol:

costume for lion in wizard of oz play---the tail was a bugger- making it behave as requested. :)

160 little fabric bowls for the pillow mints on the tables at my daughter's wedding reception -- must have been a hit- because daughter did not even get one-after the fact--they were all gone...

since been crafting/sewing for 45+ years- i've made lots of unusually things...:)

Years ago I made 13 porcupine costumes for a school play. I also had to design the costume. Thanks to my daughter, "my mom sews and she will do it".

I made a bag set for a friend who had breast cancer going through chemo. The main bag contained a little blanket, space for everything else. The one part she really appreciated was a little "sick" bag I made. It was a very pretty all-weather upholstery fabric. I used the idea from a airplane airsickness bag. About that size, just a little deeper.

I found some small white bags at a local grocery store that they put frozen stuff in-like the half gallon icecream during checkout. I talked with the store manager and asked him if I could buy a roll of the freezer bags from him, after I explained what it was for, he just gave it to me. 1 roll had about 50 bags I think. That was the liner.

So my friend didn't need to worry about finding a bathroom to upchuck in, she was always prepared. I included a travel thing of wet wipes and mouth wash in the main bag.

At first she wasn't sure what to think about it. But she kept it handy just in case, and she still thanks me for it.

My daughter works in hospital also. Some of the scrubs tech were wearing some and because they not sterile they told the workers not to wear them anymore.
