This is the quilt I specifically bought/made for my bed.
I wanted a Bargello, but didn't think I had the skills to make it...so I found this top on Ebay. I added the outer red border and then handquilted it. Bargello front Bargello back |
I have six or seven queen size quilts to choose from Currently there is one made with some embroidered blocks set on point that I am using. I have a white wholecloth one that I might put on for the holidays.
I am seriously thinking of making some of those large table runner type quilts that a previous post mentioned. It would be a way to test a pattern without having to make a queen size quilt. The last two cruise ships I was on had the runner type throw at the foot of the beds with a white duvay cover and small decorative pillows that matched the runner. |
Before I started quilting I bought one of *those* quilts from Sears for the Christmas season. So Why let it go to waste. I use it under two of my very own quilts. One is a Log Cabin a very good friend of my mother's pieced for her. I got it after Mom died and finished it, I think of both Mom and Bea every time I use it. The other is a maple leaf I made because I fell in love with the fall colors and imagined them as leaves. Because there is alot of orange in it my DH likes it too. He still asks "Where"s my quilt?". I tell him when I can figure out an easier way to do Tumbling Blocks. :)

I have four queen size quilts for our bed that I can trade off and on. Two are hand quilted and two were sent out to the long-armer to be finished. My kids and grands all have quilts on their beds. I lost count how many I have made. No blankets in our family here, all quilts

I haven't tackled a queen size yet so I have a comforter with palm trees.

Half the pieces have been replaced by now as they wore out, it ends up on the floor a lot but I still love it. Even has pieces of my high school prom dress in it!!
