So I just returned from Market and saw all the fun new precuts coming out through the end of October, (and had a little too much fun buying them all for our store) and was curious which Pre-cut is everyone's favorite???? Here are your choices -
Fat Quarter Bundle - a wrapped bundle of fat quarters Fat Eighth Bundle - a wrapped bundle of fat eighths Jelly Roll - 40 strips at 2 1/2 inches by 44 inches Layer Cake - 42 layers of 10 inch squares Charm Pack - 42 layers of 5 inch squares Mine is probably the Fat Quarter Bundle because you can make several projects from each one - love 'em!!! What's yours??? |
I think the fat quarter bundle but really I like them all - and I always shop at greenfairyquilts.
I prefer yardage. I rarely buy fabric for a specific quilt....so I never know what size to buy precuts.
I have tons of their charm packs. Whenever I need to make a project that I could use a charm pack for, sometimes I decide I really don't want to cut them up, so I cut up big pieces of fabric instead.....oh my....am I turning into a charm hoarder?
Fat quarter bundle is always so pretty. I made a bed runner using the turnover pack. It was so easy to make.
I like charm packs. You get all the pretty fabric and the price is small enough I don't feel guilty.
Love your Online store. Buy from you frequently. Charm packs or Fatquarter bundles if I can afford them.
i prefer yardage.
when i buy precuts its charm packs for my niece since she is too young to cut fabric. |
For some reason, I really like the layer cakes and charm packs.
Love the FQ bundles, next probably the Layer Cakes ... they are all great and fun to use ! :)
While doing a complete overhaul of my sewing room I've discovered that I'm a complete Moda junkie!!! LOL
I have all that you mentioned but the most I have is Charm packs and FQ's. I loooove Moda!! Just did my first jelly roll quilt and I'm loving it! Not finished but the jelly roll was so nice to work with :) Also still not finished with my sewing room but it's getting there!! |
Favorite is layer cake
Do I have to pick just one hehe.....I love them all.....and I am def a Moda junkie. If I had to pick I guess it would be jelly rolls or charm packs. I love your store and have shopped there and will def be back
Layer cakes, charm packs, then fat quarters. There is so much you can do with layer cakes and charm packs but it is nice when I can afford it to have the fat quarters. I struggle with the jelly rolls in finding patterns I like that use only that size strip. I know you always add to any of the precuts but personally have had better luck with variety of patterns with the layer cakes or charm packs.
I buy more layer cakes then any of the precuts. After buying my first layer cake package I was hooked.

Right now I am into jellyrolls. I need fast backgrounds for my applique. I cut them and string them as they all go together so well or I use them in log cabins. When necessary I will get a layer cake to "go with" the jellyroll.
For me it depends on what I'm planning on doing.... lately I've been getting FQ bundles.... but for patchwork bags or clothing I will use lots of jelly rolls or honeybuns (will a few larger pieces to finish item where precuts are too small).
fat qtr. bundles.
I probably have boughten more of the fat quarter packs or charm squares than any thing else. Love Moda!
I love charm packs
I usually can't aford the fat quarters so I like the charm packs. It is a good way for me to see if I like the faric all together and then I buy yardage of the ones that I like the best.
jelly rolls then layer cakes and charm packs
FQ bundle if I can afford it, but usually buy layer cakes. Have used the charm packs but like the versatility of the bigger squares.
I've got a quilt in the works using a FQ bundle, and would do it again, but I'm addicted to the charm packs. I found that even for my big quilt project, that I pulled bits of the charm packs (different lines) to coordinate.
I like the charm packs and the jelly rolls because they have a coordinating collection without having to buy all different yardages.
I love FQs but have never bought a bundle from the mfr'r - just too much money all at once and I ilke picking out my FQs. I find that I rarely like EVERY print in a single line.
The precut that I purchase most often is a charm pack. It's the perfect spontaneous purchase - low cost, no particular project in mind, just like the fabrics, like buying individual FQs. |
i like layer cakes - piece of cake pattern so easy and fast. I also like jelly rolls so many patterns to do with these and easy.
love moda layer cakes and jelly rolls

I LOVE them all. I use charms and then add some of my own fabric to make them go a little further. I made this for a child in the hospital and throught it was a little short. I just added part of a panel.
I just got a pack of fat eights and think that will be fabulous. |
Jelly Roll.
I like the charm packs. Layer cakes are awesome too. I know about paying for convenience, but I can't justify that much money for a FQ pack.
layer cake and charm packs are my favorites
I like the jelly rolls, layer cakes and charm packs. I have never bought the fat quarter packs and the honey buns.
I love fat quarter bundles.
My wallet loves charm square packs. |
I usually chose the layer cakes, though I have purchased some charm packs and jelly rolls.
