I''m in 100% agreement with you on this!

My theory is that, as a grandparent, you've "seen it all" and know what is important...as a parent, you've seen nothing and think everything is important.

What a difference 20 years can make, huh?

oh oh oh.. you need to do a problem burning.. list everything.. put it in your turkey pan and burn it under the light of the moon !!

Let the sewing begin just after that !

Enjoy your granddaughter, your daughter is lucky to have such a supportive mom too. :-)

Best of luck to you and your family. Enjoy every moment with your DGD.

Enjoy that precious grand! There will be time to sew eventually. Sometimes life takes us down a diff path than the one we mapped out for ourselves. This is a speed bump & after your life settles down, I think you will have plenty of time to sew.

Thank goodness.. Life will slow down soon for you ..and you will be able to enjoy the sewing and the joy of the new grandchild.. take care of yourself..

Keep dreaming, you'll get there. Last summer I was working full time and trying to sew when I could; I lived more than 1 hr away from work so spent a lot time in traffic. In August I had a stroke & heart attack; spent 10 days in hospital; another 8 in a "nursing type home"; THEN I went to live with DD & SIL in another state to "heal".....finally got settled, got sewing machine set up in my room AND HEALED very well ! ALL this to say is that chaos doesn't end eventually and your life will settle down. I've since moved back to my home state in a small apt and I get to sew a little each day.

Take one day at a time....which is great advice from someone that has a hard time listening to same advice....

Enjoy GD......keep us updated.

Been there, still there, in some ways. Your Grdaughter will grow even faster than your DD did,so other posters are right, enjoy every min.I like to remember this quote....so very true.

"Cleaning and scrubbing will wait ’till tomorrow, but children grow up, as I’ve learned to my sorrow. So quiet down cobwebs! Dust go to sleep! I’m rocking my baby. Babies don’t keep. – Ruth Hamilton"
