I have always liked making pillowcases that way they match your quilt provide breathable storage and a fun way to gift your quilts.

I have started making "bags" for my quilt gifts as well. On the outside, I use either left over fabric or a coordinating fabric - but where I differ from most - I use either a taffeta lining or use an inexpensive rayon lining. This allows for the quilt to easily slide into the bag .

i think thats a fabulous idea! i would think you can look up making QOV presentation cases which i think are like an oversized pillowcase and make one of those out of coordinating fabric. i think its a beautiful idea because you aren't sposed to store quilts in plastic bags anyway. bravo and thank you for the idea!

Good idea. I made pillow cases for my grand kids this year and used them as gift bags for their gifts.

I make pillow cases to present them in, and then they have that for an added piece

The pillowcase idea is always good, but I often make minky pillowcases to go with the quilts, especially for children, as they love the soft texture. My granddaughter refuses to sleep with anything else....which reminds me, I need to make a couple more for her! I've done the tote bag before, too -- it makes a really nice way to present a quilt. Also have used a basket to tuck a quilt into when gifting it, with a layer or two of tissue paper to cover the quilt.
