When Wrapping Paper is Not Enough
I have a quilt that is a present for someone and am thinking about making a storage bag for it instead of wrapping it up. I was just wondering if any of you have ever done this.

I think that is a perfect idea. It's always a problem what or where to store our quilts.
|
I have not personally, but think I have seen on here where others have done so. But bottom line, why not????
|
that is a good idea then maybe they won't end up in plastic bags.......you could make matching pillow cases and use one of them
|
Consider making a pillow case as your "wrapping paper" .

I made a matching tote for my sister's quilt

It's an excellent idea and will encourage the recipient to store the quilt properly (not in a plastic bag) when it's not on the bed.

I always make matching pillow cases for my quilts and use them for the "wrapping paper". I even do this for baby showers. As well as holding your quilt for gift presentation, it makes a great way to store your quilt in the linen cupboard. One look at the pillow case and I know what quilt is in there without opening bags or pulling quilts off shelves. It also contains fabric from your quilt and could be used in the case of a quilt needing some serious repairs.

i made a picnic blanket for my daughter's teacher and used the leftover backing for a tote. it's a great way to give the gift :)

I try to make matching pillowcases for my gift quilts. When it is not possible for whatever reason, I roll it up and tie it with a ribbon.
