I want to make table runners for every month for a friend. I hope some of you posted your where I can go back and see them. I wanted to keep each post, but that became a little much. Well, I keep you posted on how many I get done.

theifner 12-25-2010 01:06 PM

jodimarie 12-25-2010 03:17 PM

I started today...... Yes, I am always the first one in line when a store opens or the first one sitting in church for a wedding. I just HATE to be late for anything!! So, with that said, after breakfast I deceided to work on a Warm Wishes quilt for next years gift giving season!!!

I ususally say I am going to start in January, but then end up starting in November. But, this year I started a project and did not have time to do multiples, so I decided it is my start for next year. i will make the other one for the girls and then I can move on to the next gifts.
Hurray! Early Start for once.......

DebbyT 12-25-2010 04:52 PM

I have 2 quilt tops I wrapped up as is.- One daughter upwrapped it and ask "Do I leave it here for you to finish, or do I have to?" I told her I planned to finish, but she could if she wanted. She left it for me to finish.

morelcabin 12-25-2010 04:54 PM

I have a nativity quilt that I started before Christmas but got busy with other things so it will come out in January to be completed for next year

Jingle 12-25-2010 04:56 PM

I will probably start making a quilt next week, but not for Christmas next year. I didn't plan to make any for this Christmas and ended up making 3 at the last minute and giving one already made to a neighbor next door. I made 18 quilts this year, most since I retired in June.

Hey! That sounds like me!

I am right there with you. I started making mug rugs in November. Then one of our members here said she was going to make seven or eight quilts for a family that takes in fosters. I dropped everything and got the quilt done. They got it last Wednesday!

so everyone with whom I work got a mug rug and a little quilted animal ornament. I did not take pictures of any of them, darn it!

Very wet here at present as I have a few Christmas projects started, I am determined to finish them this coming week. I have made a resolution (even before the new year) that I am going to be more organised for Christmas 2011 and will definitely do gifts through out the year.

So we will see how we go. The best of intentions do not always go according to plan. We can only make plans!!!

OKLAHOMA PEACH 12-25-2010 06:06 PM

Well there is a project on the machine to finish that is Christmas for someone next year, didn't get it finished for this year. Bad girl

bgullett 12-25-2010 06:07 PM

Found out a neice is getting married, just engaged. So will start looking for a pattern.

POosterman 12-25-2010 06:12 PM

I was just told today that I was going to be a Grandma! I'll have lots of stuff to sew now!

Shari1967 12-25-2010 06:15 PM

I don't know if anyone is going to get a actual quilt in 2011. I am thinking of doing a lap quilt for my sister though. I want to make some sort of quilted ornaments. I may work on some hot pads as well. Started those this year but I knew I wasn't going to get them done so I put them away to work another time (rather than stressing myself LOL)

Lucymae 12-25-2010 06:26 PM

I'm glad to hear others have the same problems. I was blessed with 4 new grands this year. So far none of them have their 'grandma quilt'. I made two table runners and some pot holders for friends for Christmas...........that's it. I hope to start soon(haha) on something for my house!!

Lucymae 12-25-2010 06:30 PM

Wow!!! That is great!

joycelg 12-25-2010 06:39 PM

hsquiltingmom 12-25-2010 07:00 PM

Well, I plan to start on Monday. I did not get any of the quilts done that I had planned for this year. I was machine quilting one, and it had way too many tucks, so I am unpicking. Also, I hope I don't feel as rushed.

I am also trying to organize my home, and then hopefully, I can get my hubby to make me a set of machine quilting frames. Have the directions, just need to have a place to put them.

I am also doing seasonal placemats and tablerunners for myself and both daughters. I have a lot to do, but I will spend time each day working on them. I will be ready for Christmas next year.

BeverlyJo 12-25-2010 07:02 PM

I need to start as soon as possible. I always seem to run out of time. I hope I can do better next year.

Berta48 12-25-2010 08:23 PM

I will start making Christmas for 2011 in March or April.I already have some snowmen embroidered out for a throw quilt for my sis.

I am so busy during the summer months I have to get things started early. Then I finish them up at the last minuteLOL

Riversong 12-25-2010 08:30 PM

I have a few orders from people for next Christmas already!!

two of two 12-25-2010 08:44 PM

cherrybsixty 12-25-2010 08:44 PM

I asked the same question last year and I have some WIP's and I'm not going to tell myself the same thing again. Come Monday I am going to pull the ole machine out and clog up the apartment and stop saying what I am going to do and get something done.

tjradj 12-25-2010 08:52 PM

5 years ago, I started a Christmas tree skirt for myself. Why do these (the ones we do for ourselves) seem to go to the back burner? I've just about finished it, but it's so pretty I can't bring myself to cut the hole in the center for the tree trunk. I've thought of hanging it on the wall at Christmas time. What do you think?

Joanie2 12-25-2010 09:12 PM

Every year I say I'm going to get an earlier start but once the holiday is over I'm sick of Christmas and put away all the holiday fabric to get on with the next project or holiday. I got to a retreat right after the new year so I usually bring a new project that I haven't started yet.

Shame on you. I NEVER misplace anything at all. I believe in a place for everything and everything in its place.

Except that it's never the same place twice in a row. I think I must put it in a safe place so that it will be where I can find it== hopefully in the next year or so. Once for nearly 36 or so years. It'll be lovely when I finish it, in the next year or so when I find it again.

Gwyn 12-25-2010 10:17 PM

tomorrow

Actually, I already made my granddaughters dresses for next year. Found the shirts, slips, tights and bows on sale on Christmas Eve. Now, I just need to put them where I can remember them next December.

Quiltlady238 12-25-2010 10:27 PM

I start right after Christmas. The month of December I pick out what I want for next year cause I catch the awesome deals on clearance Christmas Material that goes on sale right after the holidays! Need to save ever penny so this way I get my fabric cheap..yet I am allowed to change my mind! LOL

IBQUILTIN 12-25-2010 10:52 PM

I will start in January. I try to do at least one quilt a month, and then a whole bunch of smaller stuff after Halloween. Never seem to have enough done. I did one Mug Rug from an antique lace handkerchief for my daughter and it turned out so pretty, I think I may do some of those vintge lace pieces this year. Who knows? More ideas and intentions than I will ever have time to do

Farm Quilter 12-25-2010 11:02 PM

Well, for the married couples in my DH's family, we draw names. I have the tops pieced for the next two years. just need to make the backs, quilt and bind them...lots of time, right? I must confess though, they are courtesy of 2 block lottos I won at my LQS this past year!!!

Maybe1day 12-26-2010 02:42 AM

Haven't been quilting long enough to plan quilting projects for Christmas however I was only thinking it would be an idea to quilt a few gifts for next year last night so if all goes to plan I will do just that this next year.

Maybe1day

homequilter 12-26-2010 04:05 AM

Maybe next week-I usually make something for my 2 nieces and my sister. In the past I have made pillow cases, wonder wallets, this year mug caddys, knitted washcloths with their initial and for 2011, I think place mats and matching napkins. I hope to get started by the end of January-of 2011 and be done on time!!!

mdollar 12-26-2010 05:03 AM

I am going to try to start the Christmas Row by Row as soon as I can after the holidays. That is my goal.

Becky Crafts 12-26-2010 06:07 AM

I've already started yesterday making a pattern for a 2011 project. I have a couple of other projects going I need to finish & then I hope to really have fun with it!! More new challenges I haven't tried yet! I love it!!

Tweety2911 12-26-2010 07:06 AM

This year ran away with itself and my plan is to start in uuuuuhhhh, don't know but it will be someday soon. Still need to finish 3 quilts
