Don't you have a repairman somewhere close? You could have them order one. I have also done this too!

One is soooo close but just a teeny bit too skinny. But I did find someone on ebay who'll sell me 2 screws for $12 and postage!! I'd hate to pay that much though. I guess I'll just keep sewing without the needleplate screwed down. It doesn't seem to affect anything. |
That really makes me angry to think someone would take advantage of you like that. $12. for screws!!!! If you don't have a dealer close, how about calling your closest dealer, tell them what you need and perhaps they can send you one?

I avoid the machine dealers when I need my parts, like screws, and go to a commercial sewing machine repair place. So far I have had better luck there, and cheaper, too than at the dealers who sell my machine. I even buy my needles there, by the 100, because I got a fantastic deal. Sometimes auto repair shops might have screws or o rings if that is what you need. For this I have found small town places much better than in the big city.

Try wrapping a little thread around that one and see if it will hold at least til you get a better fit. Just a thought. |
I needed a screw for my machine( ankle) that didn't come with the foot, went to a specialty hardware store in our town it is called Fastners, it cost $.02, went a head and bought two. LOL I to was offered one from a dealer on ebay for $6.00. Good luck!\

If your LQS is also the dealer, they should be able to order the screw. If someone brought one in for repair they would have to do it. If they won't, I'd be looking for a new LQS. :hunf:
