Another back saver is a hand control to run the machine instead of using a foot control.

I have a full sheet of plywood that I put on our old pooltable plus a large cutting mat. Works great.

Our freezer is in my sewing area. With a big cutting mat on it, it is perfect for cutting.

I use a cutting table that I bought at Joanne's years ago .

Thanks for all of the input. It made think about it and I have a couple of options now. I also have a butcher block in the kitchen that is counter height but I never thought about it. Or any of the other options. It just took all of you to get my brain working. Thanks!

I do my major cutting at our Guild's UFO's at the extension office. I am able to cut smaller units in my sewing area at home. I am short and can use the lower tables at the extension office comfortably. Until recently I had to do all my cutting and sewing at the extension office during guild meetings and UFO's. Needless to say, I have several almost finished tops, most need only borders so I can sandwich and handquilt them.

DH made a smaller table with adjustable legs ( for kitchen cupboards, bought in IKEA) that I put on my diningroomtable
Now I can cut as long as I like without my back hurting

I also have a long folding table with bed risers. Works great. I didn't skirt mine, I'm too lazy. I forgot to add that you can see pictures of my table in my profile.

I mostly cut in my cutting room. It houses my Wesminster and Studio cutters. I sometimes will use the dining room table to cut with my GO machine but now that I have the adapters for the GO to use on my Studio I mostly use that instead.
