I use Kona Snow or PFD, depending on what I'm using it for. I love it...it's a nice weight and there's no doubt it's quality fabric.

Kona at Joann's. If it is not on sale and you have 40% off coupon, then it will be worth a trip. Also if you do like Kona, try buying online form fabric.com or Marshalls Dry Goods

Thank you all for your responses. I have been on a fabic diet, but just fell off the wagon. I have tried a few places and will compare when they get here. I just don't want a white that you can see thru nor one that is too thick. Does the muslin work for you all? Thanks again. BrendaK

I just ordered a 6 yard bolt of Kona white from fabric depot for $30.00. It is top drawer quality. I only paid 7.50 shipping which makes it a great price for me. I am more than pleased with the quality and price. They also have it in black and red. It is my go to product. No I don't own stock in Fabric Depot but wish I did since I drop quite a bit of my monthly allowance there each month!

You might want to check out DharmaTradingCompany.com. They have some very good prices and they also carry PDF fabrics. Also check out the Quilters Flannel....108 in wide and double napped. Great for design walls.

Lori, What do you sew to use a bolt of white muslin ? How much do you pay per yd ? Sounds like a good idea. Nancy

For tonal whites, I've always had good luck with Moda Muslin Mates.
Here are some of the best prices I've seen tonight: 6.79 per yard on Sale http://www.honeyforkfabrics.com/cgi-...id=1#ma9921_14 $7.50 per yard http://www.stitchingdepot.com/muslin-mates-cat.html $7.98 per yard http://www.elegantstitches.com/Moda%...in%20Mates.htm Of course, there's alway ebay and etsy, too. Hope this helps, |
Thanks for your information. Nancy

I order online from the Fabric Depot in Portland, OR. fabricdepot.com
They carry Kona Cotton which is one of the best cottons in white that I have found. It is not so thin that it will show thru and it is not so thick that it is not easy to work with. It has a good weave and is relatively inexpensive. In fact, whenever I have the need for a solid fabric I shop Fabric Depot online before I look anywhere else. Their service is fast and they have quite a large selection. Gitlisgal Oregon |
I use Kona snow. I love Kona fabric

I think it is important to shop locally as much as you can. Have you tried phoning your LQS and asking if they will ship fabric to you? That way you are still their customer and when you do have transportation, you can shop there. If they won't ship to you, then you can know that you tried at least.

I use Kona.

I order bolts of White premium preshrunk muslin from Marshall Dry Goods Wholesale, I think I payed under $2 a yard for a 25 yard bolt 45" wide which is there brand, you can also get other brands up to 50 yards on a bolt.
