My machine butts up to the cutting table. Lots of room for the quilt to spread out and no falling to the floor.

Mine is on a table in the middle of the room more from necessity then anything else. I put up a card table if needed for a big quilt.

Mine is in the middle of the room. But I have a big Horn cabinet with lots of room behind my machine. Before the Horn cabinet, I had it against the wall. This was because that room was smaller and the room was also used as a guest room.

I use my machine on my dining room table. It is the only place that is viable. The table is oblong. When I quilt, I put the extra extension piece in, and use pool noodles on the end of the table for support.

Mine is in the middle of the room with one banquet table in front and one
on the left. Then I have my ironing table on the right.

Interesting. Do you cut the pool noodles like pipe insulation or attach them to the table?

My machines are all next to the wall. However, when I'm going to FMQ, I've started moving my machine to the table perpendicular to the wall. I really like using it there, but I haven't figured out how to set up the electrical so I don't have cords running all over and too many things plugged into one socket. I know. First world problems.

I have my machine up against a large window. But then again I have a hard time FMQ no matter where I am!:) I'm currently FMQ q full size quilt on my 15-91 in a small cabinet. It's tricky keeping the enter thing on the cabinet to prevent drag, but so far it's working. My next quilt I'll be FMQ is a king size so that will be the big test if I need to rearrange my sewing corner.

My sewing machine is on the dining room table. I do use a TV tray or card table on the side when I FMQ to help with the weight of the quilt. (Makes an L shape). :o The main reason I sew in the dining room is because I have a large window in front of me.

i can't stand having my sewn patches or tops or quilts piling up behind the machine.
things get all bunched up and in the way.
i have a hard enough time wrestling with what's shoved into the throat during fmq.
the additional bulk would be a pain in my butt.
if i'm chain piecing, the chain can get tangled.
