I think you don't realize how dull it's gotten until you put a new blade in or it stops cutting in places altogether! The surgeons used to say that a dull blade is more dangerous than a sharp one--and it's very, very true.

I do too. I think it's because I'm frugal and try to squeeze every cut out of it that I can!!!

I think we all do to get as much out of each blade as possible, you would think we would remember that a new blade is so much better.

Same reason for me! i may need to ask dh to do it soon though..

Me too, me too.

I think there is an epidemic of us that do this!!

I don't replace mine often, and yes, I flip it before I retire it, but the first time I have trouble cutting, that blade gets replaced (if it has already been flipped that is!)

I just changed mine this morning after a day of cursing each thing I had to cut twice. After messing up two pieces I decided to bite the bullet and change it. Then it cuts so good I can't figure out why I wait. Except for the price of the blades. I have a drawer full of used ones waiting on something to come out that really works.

No, you are not alone!!! I do it all the time.
