Plan on using my stuff until there is nothing left! The machines are getting old and won't be worth much.

Two of my sisters are quilters so they and close quilting friends get first crack at everything which includes fabric, machines, accessories and many vintage tops and quilts. The stash is so large that a sale will be in order and what remains goes to Quilts From the Heart if it is still in existence (25 years this year) The New Year resolution is not to buy any fabric unless absolutely necessary for a project. Since I have so much and like scrap quilts, I can probably keep this resolution.

I went through my address book and put 'Quilting Friend' by my friends that quilt. Hopefully the items would go to some of them. OR my son said he was putting a dump truck up to the window, nice guy.

Does your son know my sons?? They threaten the dumpster all the time!

I told my DD while they were here for Christmas I was going to thin out mine and she let me know very fast she wanted it. She and my eighteen year old DGD sew.

I haven't even thought of it yet.

Sad to say that no one in the younger generation (two nephews) has expressed an interest...yet. However, if no one volunteers, I told everyone that they were to wrap my body in any yardage left over and bury me. Seriously, if no one really volunteers to wrap me as a modern day mummy, my hope is that the books, fabric, kits, etc. will go to an elder day care or other charity in that vein so that all the "stuff" can be used to help others create who may not have been as blessed as I have been. One worry...my younger brother mentioned something about a bonfire when we talked about this a few years ago.

i belong to a senior center quilt group who makes donation quilts to vets, seniors, churches, hospitals, childrens hosp, rehab in other words any one who needs a quilt. i would like all of my "stuff" to be donated to the senior center as they rely totally on the members stashes no one subsides their kitty.

As I just retired, I am planning on finishing up all the kits, fabric w/patterns in totes and using my stash for whatever. Now, if the good Lord decides my time is up on this earth before I finish, my daughters will have a good time and some laughs over "Mom's Stash".

After getting rid of a bunch of it, I regretted it. Why should I not enjoy it for as long as I can? It is still my life, my rules and my ways as long as I am in my right mind and love to quilt! And when I go, it will be some one's else problem. Namely, DD's problem. Meanwhile, I can 'gift' what I want to, to special people and charities.

Yes ma'am!!! I agree!!! Seize the moment and enjoy every second!!

So I still buy fabrics that appeal to me and patterns, too. I take one day at a time and count my blessings for having lived this long. Father died at 43 and Mother at 63. Whatever will be, will be and "I ain't goin' worry" about it... Lord will decide when its my time to go. Women are still sewing when they are 100 or more, so why quit something that we enjoy?? Seize the moment and enjoy every second!

I agree here too!!! Seize the moment and enjoy every second!!
