Not me, no way.

You are all the lucky ones. I am still working part-time at a local Hallmark so will be one of the idiots trying to satisfy an irate customer on BF. The nicest thing about working is that I can come home and quilt and return to sanity.

I'm not a shopper and would rather the beat with a stick than go out on Black Friday!!

I would rather kneel on rice than face that crush! I am staying home and my children and grandchildren will do crafts and cooking.

I think I will be able to go home for a few days from being at my daughter's house for flood and Insurance and termites and on and on. I plan on not go anywhere if I get to go home. I cannot wait.

Can someone please explain to this Dutchie what Black Friday is and why it's called that?
Thank you.

I think I will go to Costco. Nothing that I have in mind to buy. Just thought it might be fun as I just like going to Costco. I love watching the people there.

Two different years, we went out to get " special purchase offers" as advertised at a local big box store. Both times we got products that were basically half of a product. Both times we had to buy additional more expensive products to make the first one to work. (DVD player at a great price had to have an RF modulator to work, and for the TV, we had to buy speakers to hear it!) No thank you, and besides, the Black Friday prices are good until Christmas, why bother? In this greedy economy, there are no REAL 'good deals'.

Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving. It's called that because it supposedly gets the merchants out of the red and into the black for their year's sales. Thanksgiving Day have huge sales flyers to let you know what's on sale, but because of stores opening on Thursday, I don't know if they'll have them or if they will be in Wednesday's papers.
