I am not planning on going out and shopping on BF. I am not fond of crowds and all the crazy pushing and shoving. Our Hancock Fabric is crazy on Black Friday. There is always a huge crowd waiting for the doors to open. I went one time and it was a mess. I really felt bad for all the employees there.

Thank you.

You'll be lucky I asked ages ago and still don't understand what it means. Looked like it is a shopping day.

The whole concept of BF makes me angry. Why would you do that to your customers and employees? I thought after the deaths a couple of years ago, this madness would go away. Just do some reasonable pricing all the time and I would be happy. Cyber Monday seems a whole lot saner.

It's called Black Friday because retailers expect that day to help them end the year in the black.

Not on your life! Other members of my family treat Black Friday like a strategic war. They assign drivers, pick up and drop off locations etc. I stay home and shop online. I would become a raging lunatic stuck in traffic, waiting in hours long lines. I would like for people to continue to think that I am a sane and kind person.

I have worked BF at a Hancock's not a big deal. Last year there were 2 people waiting for the doors to open, I got a lot of work done that day.

She said yes. My husband is going to retire at the end of the year so I need to stock up on fabric at the lowest price I can get. Aside from that I won't be doing much shopping.

Please be cautious about a huge purchase of Joann's flannel. It is very cheesy quality and won't withstand the varied laundry practices of the recipient's mothers. It pills, shrinks and fades badly and it is very thin after washing. I no longer use it for my charity quilts.

Thanksgiving Day have huge sales flyers to let you know what's on sale, but because of stores opening on Thursday, I don't know if they'll have them or if they will be in Wednesday's papers.

Thank you Gramajo. Isn't it always nice to learn something new LOL.
