my problem is that I get half done with one and my mind has already moved on to something else I just have to do. therefore, I have lots of WIP and some quilt tops hanging up ready to be quilted. I am making an effort to finish some of my quilts.

I am down to 1, unless you count all the orphan blocks I'm saving for a sampler quilt. Do they count?

I started out finishing a quilt before I started another one. Sometimes I bought material for the next quilt but always finished before starting a new one. Well that idea went up in smoke because now I counted and I have 12 UFO's. My cousin called me the FINISHER and I called her the TOPPER. Well I'm not close to her but creeping up.

I have a lot,I did get about 4 completly finshed, today I got out three more, too my suprise some were farther along than I thought. Two double wedding ring table runners that just need quilting. Oh,how I hate hand quilting. One double wedding ring that I started sewing together all by hand,( can't believe i did that) It is in all shades of whites and off whites. It isn't even all pieced, let along the quilting.I have one star log cabin,I keep putting it off because the star is a big one in the center of the log cabin blocks. Every thing on it is done, but the star isn't right so I have to make another one,the log cabin part is ready to set in by the star. I have enough material to make another star but hate to. The frist one I made would not lay flat in the middle,I have redone it three times,so I think a new one is what I need. It will be so pretty if I ever get it done. Colors are white, dark green and burgndy. I plan to use it on my bed someday! Help!

Quilter's unite!! Don't ask-- Don't Tell!! Sounds like a good policy to me. LOL |
Now that I think about it,I think the reason I got some of the UFO's done was because of reading about them last year on here. But I am still putting off the star. That is what I remeber was telling about my star last year. I have about 4 that are almost done so plan to finsh them before I start on IT. I think I counted 4 completed and 3 that are real close. Will do the 3 next.May not get to IT,till next year. Ha

UFO's!!!! LOL, maybe the aliens will take my oldest one away. it was from when I first started to quilt, I have it in rows but my rows don't line up, it has to be about 15 years old all pretty country pink and blues. My other two are WIP's sitting on the cutting table and design wall. Right now I'm busy making pillowcases to add to that million pillowcase challenge. I have finished 8 and have 8 more all pinned and waiting to sew. I love that tube version of making them it's so fast.!!!!

I have about 45 and I am in the UFO challenge to finish one a month. So far, I've accomplished this. I hope I can stay on track for the year.
|
well I have April doll quilt, baby quilt, and my sons birthday quilt. yep I have some. God bless. Penny
|
I have many UFO's. My goal is to finish them this year. Of course that was my goal last year also. I get into these blocks of the month and finish blocks but do not put the quilts together. Wish me luck attaining my goal this year.

I don't have any UFOs - when one is finished I start the next.
|
Oh my, I have 2 wallhangings, 1 baby, 2 quilts to finish. 1 sitting there with material to be cut, 1 all material pulled just trying to decide on material, already have pattern and 1 have all material and not pattern.
|
My new years resolution was to finish all my ufos before I started anything new. Well, guess how long that lasted. Till I found a new pattern I just couldn't wait to start. My biggest challenge is a antique top that was pieced by my DH's GGM. It's not pretty, but means so much to me and I'm afraid I'll really screw it up. But I have finished five ufo's and added three more tops to my ufo pile. Is that one step forward and two steps back. Oh well, tomarrow is another day.
|
I have toooo many. Maybe10 or more. But I do finish some in between!
|
Whoa girl! Are you ever self controlled!

Quilting Friends'
You all inspire me to finish my UFO's, to numerous to count. I have several 30 gallon plastic tubs full.I've been trying to finish at least one before starting a new project, that gets some of them out of the way. Still a lot to do. |
Cathie I would be glad to finish any that you don't want.
|
Several months ago there was a thread on here on just this subject. It got me to thinking so I counted mine and the number was 10. Seeing it in black and white got me in gear and I am proud to say I have it down to 3. Trust me, you are definitely not alone!
|
I have three: 1 single block, 1 group of blocks, and one top. I am not counting the three swaps I am currently in as they have not closed yet.

Seriously, I have 12. Not including the OBW top. Or the many many many I have in the planning stages. Kyia |
I joined the UFO challenge on the Stashbuster web site. SO I am really focusing on those this year. Until the OBW came up! And I am reading with the bargello tute but that is a UFO that I needed instructions for on how to finish what I had started.

If I don't have to count patterns and fabric that is gathered up and ready to start, then I have four. My SIL wants three bow tuck bags for my nieces so I cut out two of each color combo she wanted. I finished two last night, and still have four left to do that are started.
I would be working o those right now, but I just remembered that I need to make the Moroccan pouf that I promised my daughter I would make for the babies room and into the box to mail tomorrow. I used to have lots of projects started but I am trying really hard not to do that anymore. I have so much fabric and patterns and plans that I just do not have room to store UFO's. I need to stop buying books and patterns and fabric and making plans, but forget that, not going to happen. |
Gee, you're supposed to finish them?
I've discovered it's inherited. I opened Mother's cedar chest recently and found numerous quilt tops and blocks dating back into the 40's. |
Ya'll have made my day. I thought I was the only one with more than a couple UFO's :) Guess I best get at it & finish at least 1. Hugs.
|
Seems like I'm in good company. I have about 6 to 8 UFO's right now. But like most of you I continue to start more quilts when I see a pattern I like. My goal each New Year is to complete at least 2 of my UFO's and so far I'm not doing too bad. Last year I met my quota and will do so again this year. Now I don't feel so guilty about having some on hand.

When my mother went into the nursing home, she gave me a number of quilt tops. She said I could get them quilted. I reply was, that I have my own that need quilting, and have to scrape to find money enough to do it. I was thinking of donating hers to a church or someplace that could quilt or tack them to use for donating someplace.I will be doing good to get mine quilted. I also have 3 or 4 quilt tops that I bought at flea markets that need quilting. They look like 30's or 40's double wedding rings. most of them there is one flower garden I think. If it isn't bad enough that I don't finsh my own,now I have a few of someone elses that I need to finsh.
|
Well I've got a few myself, usually patterns with the material purchased to make the quilt and forgetting that I've got it tucked away in the closet! I've got several like that- at least 6 or more. Now I'm determined to find them all, count them, and actually finish them!
Kind Regards, MaryAnna |
