I was so excited to find a fabulous piece of English fabric in my mailbox today, what a lovely gift from a special friend!
Unfortunately, the constant rain we've had for a month obliterated the sender's name and much of the address on the envelope -- all I know is that it's from Vancouver. I think!

Please, please let me know, for sure, if you are the one who sent it so I can thank you properly. I can hardly wait to use this print as it has so much 'movement' in it and the colors are great!!

It is, indeed, gorgeous! This is the kind of fabric I am terrified to cut into, so afraid I'll not use it to its best advantage!

As far as I could tell after a long search, it is no longer available anywhere. It's from an English fabric company, made in London.

It's part of the 'Arts and Crafts' collection by Fabric Freedom, called 'Light Fantastic'. It's out of print now, but there's some available on eBay UK. I don't know if they'll ship to US.:)

Maureen NJ 05-20-2016 02:33 AM

Jan, I seem to recall that the person hated the fabric and was happy to finish her quilt and you said you loved it. Maybe look back in your profile for comments you made. I could also see it as a stack and whack. Enjoy. You deserve it!

LindaJ 05-20-2016 03:43 AM

Nice surprise. Someone is very thoughtful!

quilterpurpledog 05-20-2016 04:09 AM

Great mystery! Interesting fabric! Caring , sharing and creative quilter! Who could ask for more. I join the rest of QB in waiting to see what you come up with for this fabric. I hope you find the source of it. Most of all I hope you enjoy it.

Pennyhal 05-20-2016 09:36 AM

What an unusual piece of fabric! Don't think I've ever seen fabric printed in this style before. I'm lookinng forward to seeing what you make with it.

Billy'swife 05-20-2016 10:54 AM

What a mailbox find!! Beautiful fabric......beautiful friend!

MargeD 05-20-2016 04:06 PM

It is a glorious piece of fabric, very, very nice.

Jan in VA 05-20-2016 07:59 PM

The sender mystery has been solved and I've thanked her. As suggested, it did indeed come to me from a comment I made about a quilt she had made with this fabric. It was such a surprise and a delight, we laughed together over the joy of the gift!
It will be a while before I get to work on this as I'm in a bit of a holding pattern right now, emotionally, as I wait for the thyroid surgery upcoming June 22. I promise to share it when I've got something!

Jan in VA

DOTTYMO 05-20-2016 10:07 PM

I'm glad you found the sender. Good luck with the surgery and a lovely piece of fabric waiting for you afterwards.

JanieH 05-21-2016 04:29 PM

I am glad you found the sender = what fun we all had with the fabric.

I will be thinking and praying for you on your surgery = hope all goes well and you have a speedy recovery!

nanquilt 05-21-2016 07:53 PM

Jan, I hope your surgery is successful and that you recover nicely. You are a wonderful person and desire only the best.

Jan, I'll keep you in my prayers. I am so curious. I wish you had shared the quilt that was made with it. Can you at least tell us if it was a Stack and whack or OBW?
