why not flip it and pin from top side then remove the pins on the bottom....unless the top is wrong side up...yea I've done something similar... forgot to tape the backing down & pinned the whole thing & had too much slack all over had to redo whole thing.....who doesn't make these mistakes??? :D

Although theoretically one could quilt from the top with the pins underneath, removing them as you go, I think the major problem would be if you miss a pin. Once your machine is very close to the pin, it would be impossible to remove it from the back without taking the quilt from under the presser foot. I think it's mostly an issue of preventing a problem while quilting, ounce of prevention, that kind of thing..... |

welll I decided to just go slow and quilt it from the top and take the pins out of the back as I got close and it's working really well so far. I'm doing sections at a time so that I think is helping.

I am so sorry you need to redo your pinning. That's the part I hate. I'm glad I'm not the only one who does things like this.
