A marvelous story and how special that he turned to you!

God bless both of you.

I think quilting will be very relaxing for your nephew. That should help him to deal with his PTSD. Enjoy your time spent with your nephew. Please post a picture of his first quilt.

This sounds like a win/win situation. Quilting is such good therapy! Ask me how I know. You must be a special aunt that he would want to do this with. Good on you for being there for him. Tshirt quilts are fun to make. Just don't forget the fusible interfacing, lol. Have a fun day.

enjoy your time together doing a fine craft

This is a time for a good time together, if it's therapy for him or not it's surely not our job to say if it is. We all probably use all of our hobbies as a form of therapy to some degree but none of us really want or need that reminder when we are just trying to enjoy our time quilting. Hope this made some sense Have Fun together

That's great. Our son also has a mild case of PTSD. Enjoy your together time! The creativity will help relax both of you.

Bless his dear heart and bless YOU for helping him through a difficult time. I hope you share laughter during your time together.

I'm glad that you are going to be a part of his journey in recovery. I hope all goes well for him.
and another man quilter I'd born. |
Quilt making is great therapy, indeed, as I discovered myself following surgery last year. The business of cutting, piecing, creating is a terrific concentrator and gives you something to do and think about besides worry and brood.
