Yes QuiltE, I'm beginning to think we're neighbours ;) I seldom get up to Shelburne and did not know about the changes. I've heard rumours that there will be a quilt show in Orangeville this autumn but have not seen any ads as yet. Have you heard anything about it?

Shelburne is UP for me too!! :)

Ironically, I've never been to it either .... the dates just have never worked for me.
With their location, they should have lots of space for display and merchant mall.

Also ... did you know about this one?

I went to it 2 yrs ago, and pretty much bumped into Shelbie! for our first IRL meeting!
It was a good show, though quite crowded for the space they have.

So that could mean a Show both before and after Thanksgiving!!
Bring on the nice fall days!! :)

Your day sounds wonderfull.

Shelbie ... perhaps you have some insights into the upcoming Piecemakers Show?

GingerK 08-11-2013 07:09 AM

Oh thank you QuiltE!! I have marked my calendar for both events! I would love to get to a Piecemakers meeting but work most Monday evenings. No fun when life gets in the way of quilting.

I congratulate you for just coming home with one 10 yard piece of fabric, and if you had left it there, it would have "haunted" you. When a fabric jumps into my arms, it's a sign that it has to come home with me, no questions asked. You know very well that if you had left the store without it, then decided to go back, driving an hour each way, the fabric would have been sold out, or there would not be enough for your project. Buyer's remorse is not easy to live with and you have to remember that fabrics have a shelf life so you need to buy what you need and maybe a smidge more.

Well, at least you're in Canada. If I stopped at a fabric store and left fresh produce in the car I'd better have a it in a big ice chest or it would be hot mush by the time I came back! Your quilt be be beautiful, and when you do finally get to it I hope you'll post a picture for us.

Oh Rose_P, we also carry coolers in our cars for summer purchases. Altho it's been a cooler than normal summer for us, I wouldn't think of going to the market without a cooler and freezer packs.

I've tried to post a photo of the fabric but am having computer problems. If it were my sewing machine, I'd know exactly how to fix it but I'm lost if the computer doesn't do exactly what I want. It is Henry Glass Botanica line and I envision large bright splashes of blooms separated by black sashing.
