My machine is all mine, I chose it, I paid for it, it calms me, it soothes me, it helps me create, it is an extension of my arms and hands and me...

For me, it's more practical than sentimental. It's overwhelming to use a new machine with things even slightly rearranged. Also, there might be different/new features to figure out. I just have more of a rhythm with a familiar machine.

So I guess I am the only one who also loves some of my other appliances, lol. Anything that works great and makes my life easier I get attached to.

Breaking in a new one is time consuming.

For me, I cried when my 6600 melted. All the things I've made for people, were in progress for people, etc. Much love came from my machine for others.

I agree we create with our babies....but it is ours, something we spend our time with, think, solve home, and all the national problems with and it doesn't spred a single rumor.

Sewing is a pleasure; it's therapy. A happy place to be and fiber is good for us.

i have been thru some difficult times with the loss of my child and my sewing machine has helped me thru some of my darkest day.
for me, the loss of the machine would be like losing a friend that has dried away many of my tears. |
