Fat Quarter Shop is so great! I emailed Kimberly on Thursday evening and had an answer on Friday morning! They're letting me return the champagne fabric (I'm paying the return shipping) and they're sending out the "right" color! So glad I'm dealing with a company who understands and appreciates their customers! YEAH for Fat Quarter Shop!

In your first post you said you ordered 2.5 yards. In this post you say $35. $35 for 2.5 yards? That's $14 per yard.

That was the same question in my mind..WOW!

Thank you QKO for the info. I learned my lesson about trying to match a fabric just by looking at the color on my computer screen. I hadn't thought about asking for a swatch before ordering....wonder how may shops would do this?

The only place I know of that will let you return cut yardage that you ordered in the wrong color is Keepsake Quilting. They have a 'no quibble' guarantee. You can return anything, for any reason, at any time, no questions asked. If Fat Quarter Shop does the same in this case, I would be surprised...and grateful...if I were the OP.

We do this also, but we'd rather have a customer ask for a sample before they commit to an order if there's any doubt on the color.

Another thing that some customers do in order to be sure, especially when dealing with fabrics that come in a lot of colors, is to send the shop a small sample and ask them to match it.

I've always had the best customer service from fat quarter shop. The fabric is not cheap, but the customer service makes up for the cost. Really it's about the same cost as my local LQS, except I can't touch and feel before I buy the fabric. It's the place I shop if I'm looking for fabric for a special project. You can often hit a sale or find a coupon.

Won't they take it back? Connecting threads would...

I haven't had any problems with my on line orders. Everyone is so nice! I often get a handwritten thank you, often signed. It's a small personal touch that is really pleasing. Sort of like getting a real handwritten letter as opposed to an e-mail. of course, i often forget what exactly i've ordered but i've so far always been pleased and the only issue is when the fabric is sold out before my order was processed. then it's just a matter of being disappointed, not upset with the vendor.
