I can so relate to this. My H supports my hobby/fixation but to him everything looks "OK' or "fine"---no other feedback.

quiltwoman....I hear ya....mine always asks the 'does this match question' too.

At least he doesn't say "Well, it better be something good this time." Aren't you supposed to be your own worst critic?

OK, guys, I have to omit that DH is great with colors and loves to shop for clothes! He's great at helping me when I need it, and although we don't always agree on colors,(Den), he has always supported me in my craving for more material!
I very seldom ask his opinion about quilting, and don't show him anything until about finished! Since he doesn't quilt, don't need or want his opinion anyway! LOL

My DH and kids are very supportive. Only problem is I'm pretty sure when he sees fabrics, he just sees dollar signs all over them...

I don't ask hubby for his opinion- he justs whines that the quilts leave the house- he wants them all. :) Oh- and he thinks everything should be red, his favorite color. Exact opposite of me- I don't care to use red or orange.

My son has always helped me with color choices (including laying out blocks and choosing borders). He thinks he has no artistic talent, but I tell him he does and remind him how he helps me.

My other son is daring- pink shirts are fine with him. He loves color and loves to quilt too.

my dh refuses to shop with me me but is a big help in decideing colors and what goes with what.

I'm just the opposite. Of course, I do quilt. My ex-wife was the one, who couldn't see color at all. We had a custom house built and I picked out everything, from tile to countertops to paint. The only color I asked her to choose was for the front door.

I asked her to go to the paint store and pick a color to match the very dark pine green carpet. She even took a sample of the carpet with her. She came back with a color called "Fresh Mown Grass", which is a bright medium green. She swore it matched. I told the painter to put it on anyway. It was the first thing the new owners changed.

My husband used to be a graphic deisgner. He is GREAT at picking out fabric. When I pick out things that aren't quite right, he can tell my WHY they don't work together, i.e.... This one's too green, you need a warmer yellow, etc.

He even helps me pick out my clothes! And he has all kinds of helpful suggestions re: quilt layout, border proportions, etc.

I never realized how lucky I am. Maybe I should loan him out to you all!

My DH never says a thing, Just looks and smiles. We've been together for
53yrs, and 11 months. I know he likes my creations because he asks our Doctors their favorite colors and then tells them ,"Rosie will make you a nice Christmas presant. I make table toppers for them. Wouldn't trade him off for anything. Rosetta Msaster.

So today I went to my LQS to get some fabric for a class this Friday. I needed two complementary colors, six shade of each ranging from very light to very dark, should read as solid. Now you know you go in there and it seems like there must be 100 shades of yellow alone. I start of by saying I think I would like yellow and blue, we are unable to find six colors of yellow that really play together. So we move to blue and do find the blue eventually. By now I have invested a lot of time, but am ready for next color and one of the women gets out the color wheel, finds this beautiful brown and voila in no time we have six shades of this ranging from creamy yellow to dark brown. The whole mix is beautiful, I am actually hugging the staff in gratitude, I know my quilt will be the best in the whoel class. It took over an hour to do this.

I come home, have the fabrics laying out just so I can walk by and admire them. My husband comes home from work, I say 'aren't these gorgeous colors' and he agrees. I tell him about the project, and he says 'you mean you are going to use them together?' If it was up to him our whole house would be done in brown and beige.

I know what you mean... My Bill is a green, brown and blue Man. If it is Dark,Dark Green or Blue or Brown He is happy. We have learned to compromise. Our Great room He picked out the Paint an off Beige. I pick out the sectional sofa. Darker than beige. I picked out the big Chairs medium Brown. All his colors Right. Well I picked out the rugs and curtains, REDS,Browns, Greens,Blues. DARN HE WON AFTERALL!!!   Not really it was really a compromise you should have seen the rugs, curtains and throws He was looking at. With a little push,to get the reds in it all came together and it works.
Seriously I do fine until it is all DARK,DARK colors. As for the quilting He knows nothing about color matching. NONE at all. I dont even ask him how he likes some colors because He just can't see it until I am done.
