Wow!!!! What a dream come true. Would love that.
Wondering where in Georgia you will be working? I live in Roswell, Ga outside of Atlanta. Would love to come and see the things you make and possibly spend some of my husbands hard earned money.

I sent you both a PM. |
Thanks for this note, I am opening a store soon, and that's about the only way I can afford to pay someone to help: wasn't sure it would be accepted - now I know. have fun with all that fabric !!!!!
I have had a job like that for three years, I piece quilt tops and make table runners, baby quilts and samples of all kind, I work two days a week and I love it, I wouldn't be able to make very many quilts if I didn't do it this way, I didn't even know how to quilt when I started there, she is a great teacher, she started in her garage, then about 19 years ago built a shop, she has been quilting for 29 or 30 years
Great way to get fabric - doing something you love.
Wow I hope you aren't too busy to get back to us with the pictures. That is a lucky deal for you...
There is a little country quilt shop i go to and she does the same for a couple of ladies in there. They are retired and love it, it helps her out while she is building up her businees, and it helps them out. A definite win win sittuation. I am like the others..........I will be looking forward to seeing some of the things you make.
Such a deal! Lucky girl.

Both of my daughters are excited because they know I cannot use 26 yards of fabric a month-so I will be sharing with them too.
The owner also told me that she would like for me to make shop samples sometimes. She will give me the fabric and the pattern, I will make the top, she will supply the batting and backing, send it out to be quilted, and when she is finished using it in the shop as a sample--I get to have it!! Isn't that a sweet deal???? I am really excited---one day a week for all that fabric. What more could a girl ask for?  |
I saw this post and just had to reply even if it was days later. If you think about it, 26 yards of fabric would make two queen size quilts. So you could use that fabric up each month if you quilt a lot. If I didn't have those other annoying responsibilities like cleaning the house, babysitting grandkids (although I love them to death!) cooking, laundry. Well, you all get the picture, That fabric would be gone each month and sefish me wouldn'd need to worry about sharing the fabric, but I would give my quilts away when I finished. Isn't that why we quilt?
Congrats. Have fun playing with all that fabric.
Now that is the type of job I could do. Or need to do. I like that idea.

What a great job, no stress, nice folks and fabric to touch. Who could ask for more. My daughter worked for Hancock Fabrics years ago and she made a
lot of clothes for display in the store and then got to keep them. |
What a great t-shirt, perfect! Hope you get it in time!

That's great! MY maor expense is always backing fabric. I usually have enough to do applique quilts frm my stash but never enough for backing. That would be like hitting the mother lode for me!
