What's the first thing on your wish list? The one thing you want most but haven't yet bought?

I would love to have a Pfaff sewing machine! I learned how to sew on a Pfaff but haven't been fortunate enough to buy one. I keep trying to take mom's but she keeps a close eye on it.

Marjpf 02-19-2010 03:43 PM

A bigger sewing room! I love my house and don't want to move, but for the right sewing room, I'd sell in an instant!

thismomquilts 02-19-2010 03:54 PM

1. Long arm sewing machine
2. Embroidery machine
3. Money to use them to my heart's content!! :)

peaceandjoy 02-19-2010 04:02 PM

A real sewing room - and if I'm really dreaming big, it'll be a fully decked out one. Cutting table, ironing area, storage that is plentiful, attractive and accessible. You get the idea, lol.

Maybe an Accucut Go. Don't really want one enough to buy it, but again, if I'm dreaming...

More realistic? Sewing furniture, as in a Horn or Koala type sewing table and a chair to match.

Ditto!

Wouldn't it be wonderful to have all of these new toys to play with and no money worries to use them and even share the new toys with our quilty friends here! And of course, a house built around the best of the best sewing rooms! A beautiful room with a beautiful view of a lake! If I am dreaming I am going for the gold!

I agree with all of the above.

I want a Viking embroidery machine and all of the thread and patterns that go with it. The one I want is about $6000. I wouldn't mind a bigger sewing room, either. 30' x 30' would be nice! A qilting machine would be ok, too. Maybe if I win the big one!!

zz-pd 02-19-2010 04:26 PM

fabric so I can learn to quilt.

Elisabrat 02-19-2010 04:32 PM

I wish for a lamp to see what I am sewing better. Nothing big but the lighting is not great here. I could have a ton of things but without light.. its not good. I have two hours morning sun in the kitchen with the lights on (lots of pine trees outside).. then by mid/late day forget it. Its mood lighting. I look good in it however the seams I am sewing never look good in it!

1. A place to sew that is bigger than 2' by 3'
2. A hand quilting frame that I can do bigger quilts on without having to scrunch everything up and do it in tiny sections. I have the plans to make one just haven't done it because I have no place for it.

Pat and pups 02-19-2010 05:02 PM

I want a house with bigger rooms--not more rooms, but bigger ones. The biggest would be for sewing. I'm really tired of being in cramped quarters.
The other thing I want is a servant to put away fabric after I'm done with it and keep everything organized for me.
Since I'm unlikely to get either of those things, I guess I'll just have to make do with things as they are.

Jim's Gem 02-19-2010 05:16 PM

For my quilting, I want a long arm set-up (and space to put it) for non quilting, I want a new Suburban. Dh has been saying "next year" for the last 5 years, well, this is "next year" I am hoping I can get it before summer!!!

tkhooper 02-19-2010 05:22 PM

right now it is a fabric that looks like the oiled rice paper used in asian parasols, preferably with a pattern on it that will match the geisha kimono quilt i am working on. It's driving me crazy just looking for it.

Chasing Hawk 02-19-2010 05:50 PM

!. more time to sew
2. having the kids take my advice to stop having babies until I can catch up on the quilt making..lol
3. 6 more feet added to my sewing room
4. an endless supply of Almond Roca toffe

littlehud 02-19-2010 05:55 PM

I'd love the have a room for sewing instead of a corner, but that would mean DD's and DS and DGD would have to move out. I don't want that so I'd have to wish for a bigger house.

dkabasketlady 02-19-2010 05:55 PM

A VERY large sewing room with all the "Goodies"! I'm dreaming big and can only go down from there.

susie0808 02-19-2010 06:09 PM

I WANT A HOUSEKEEPER AND COOK!!!! (lol) So I won't be interrupted from my sewing to tend to everything else!

nursie76 02-19-2010 06:16 PM

1. A long arm.
2. Bernina 830 or Brother Quattro with a larger embroidery area

Don't expect that I will ever have any of these unless we win the lottery...oh, that's right, you have to play to win.:D

But really I am lucky to have what I do! So I give thanks.

JanetM 02-19-2010 06:22 PM

Crafty1 02-20-2010 04:46 AM

On my wish list are:

1) Fabric
2) Another set of rulers (mine are chipped from not cutting right)
3) Dear Jane Software and Book

Somehow #1 always get bought :)

Boston1954 02-20-2010 05:41 AM

BACKING!!!! I am nearly at a stand still. I say nearly because I have one large quilt in a frame and a lap quilt in a hoop. I CAN work on these, but I want so much to get started on other things. I have three tops DONE, and I want to get going on the green and purple one for my sister. I have loads of batting, and other stuff, but the tops have to wait till the tax money comes in.

RatherB Quilting 02-20-2010 06:33 AM

I wish for a big craft room complete with a house to go around it!

butterflyquilter 02-20-2010 09:19 AM

1. a longarm machine and frame
2. a huge sewing room all my own!
of course, they ar just wishes--I know neither will ever happen but it is nice to dream!

redrummy 02-20-2010 09:24 AM

1. a bigger room to be able to do all in here. I have room for a sewing machine, my embroidery machine, and computer. To iron I have to go to kitchen, no space left in here to set it up.
2. time enough to do all my ""to do"" list.
3. money to do all my ""to do"" list.

Joanieu 02-20-2010 09:50 AM

1. A bigger sewing room
2. a bigger ironing board (have instructions for one that someone posted on the board here, but waiting for hubby to make it - he states no room for it so that is why I have #1)
3. More time to quilt - need to win one of the big lottos

quiltingruthie 02-20-2010 10:46 AM

A real sewing and quilting room

Barbm 02-20-2010 11:02 AM

a long arm someday

right now- the courage to learn paper piecing and my embroidery machine

and last- to find the oil for my sewing machine. I'm tired of putting things where I don't find them again. It cuts into sewing time. Wonder if I can use Singer on my Juki?

DianD 02-20-2010 11:14 AM

1.) A HUGE sewing room, something that will hold the supplies for all my other addictions, too!
2.) Time to accomplish all the things I want to do
3.)Money enough to live in the manner to which I would like to become accustomed!
4.) An airplane, so i can pick all of ya'll up, and you can come sew with me, and drink good wine, and eat good, spicy Texas food!

Oh, and world peace...

BellaBoo 02-20-2010 11:19 AM

I think a new Bernina would be nice.

amma 02-20-2010 11:34 AM

A bigger sewing table, shelves, books, fabric......:D:D:D:D

Kathi in PA 02-20-2010 12:14 PM

i have a 3.0 Pfaff that I'm thinking about selling. It's only about 10 months old. i bought a Janome 6600p and I would really like to get an embroidery machine. Just a thought for you!!! My wish is to have a bigger sewing room which will be completed within the next 8 mths.

Kathi in PA

quiltingruthie 02-20-2010 12:39 PM

How much are you asking for your pfaff

DeneK 02-20-2010 03:25 PM

I want to say "abracadabra" and be an expert quilter... LOL!

All Thumbs 02-20-2010 03:44 PM

I wish my fingers would not crack all the time. Yes, I use gloves and all kinds of creams but winter looms on. Because I have been blessed (donated) with some poor quality fabrics to make Project Linus Quilts, I must plug on and hope Spring is just around the corner.

schwanton 02-20-2010 04:12 PM

My ultimate wish list would be a little cottage/studio separate from my house. A place I can go to without being interrupted. With space for everything, quilting frame and a comfy chair just to relax and gather my thoughts! Light and airy, a place to call my own.

Olivia's Grammy 02-20-2010 04:37 PM

When my fingers crack I put super glue on them. In about 2 days they are ok.

This would be good. I pretty much have everything I want except more time.
My dream, if we won the lottery, is to teach under priviliged girls to sew, with me furnishing everything, even a place to sew including machines and fabric.

N.J.linda 02-20-2010 05:38 PM

More time to sew, my quilting room feels so neglected lately. But my BIG someday wish is for a Singer featherweight.

sylvia77 02-20-2010 05:58 PM

I wish for a long arm machine and the money to buy all the fabric I ever wanted.
