"A man who works with his hands is a laborer; a man who works with his hands and his brain is a craftsman; a man who works with his hands and his brain and his heart is an artist" -- Louis Nizer

Which are you?

patricej 05-09-2007 11:37 PM

being a woman, i'd have to ask: what's the next step up from artist?

It makes my day when tose two go at it

SandraJennings 05-10-2007 08:22 AM

While I too agree it is a wise and wonderful quote Tim, 3 women agreeing on anything will always trump. Hang in there luv, it's great company!

SandraJennings 05-10-2007 08:56 AM

Good to see you agree with Webster: distinctive or unique, exceptional, unusual, highly valued ...not general; specific...! and might I add...we are humble too! :D

You know why men were created first? Because you have to come up with a rough draft before creating the finished product.

Round the corner in your neck of the woods,
walk the streets of the neighborhood.

Little Jack Horners and Johnny B. Good"s
raising their thumbs and beating on hoods!

Butchers and Bakers, even Candlestick makers
wondering , How? or if they could!

Jump in your wagon, Sail off to sea.
For off in the distance it is clear as can be....

For the bold, the brave, the truly earth shakers!
Without penny, or pail, and calling all takers.

Complex and diverse, single and many
A duplicate, of which, there is not any.

Come closer, my friend, and you will see,
the Wonder of wonders!

Tis WOMAN , to thee.

ButtercreamCakeArtist 05-11-2007 10:27 AM

OK....tell me...are we not all half man and half woman?
My Mom is a woman.
My Dad is a man...
If one were pomeranian and one chihuahua, I'd be half Pom, half Chi...
So, are we not 1/2 man, 1/2 woman?

SandraJennings 05-11-2007 11:28 AM

Good question! Nest one...Which hairdo would you prefer? Pom or Chi? :-)

How this thread has deteriorated. And it didn't start out so lofty. *L*

tim in san jose

PomChi BTW.

ButtercreamCakeArtist 05-11-2007 12:52 PM

SandraJennings 05-11-2007 02:15 PM

Deteriorated? Lofty? Really?

ButtercreamCakeArtist 05-11-2007 03:45 PM

Patrice, you can't be! Your father had to be a man!?
Teasing!
I'm 100% woman, myself.

Carla P 05-11-2007 08:28 PM

So, I've been thinking, dangerous I know, but all this talk about men and women, half and halfs, all woman, etc, each of you are all woman, I am all woman, and many others here will say the same; could that mean that Tim is a woman trapped in a mans body?

k_jupiter 05-11-2007 09:01 PM

Yeah.. right.

Don't even go there.

I repeat... don't even GO there Carla.

This is a nice clean board.

Let's keep it that way. *L*

...Maybe.

patricej 05-12-2007 10:34 AM

Let me clear up this little mystery for one and all.

Tim is a man trapped in a man's body.

i'd bet cash on that and i'm so cheap my skates won't roll.

Man you guys crack me up. Nice to have humor sometimes in our quest of quilting knowledge!

Somehow, I don't think everyone wishes that they were the "chosen ones"--quilter's I mean. After all, without men, there would be no father-children relationships, fewer mechanical minds, and no furthering of the human race. While I'm happy I'm a girl...I'm much happier to not be a boy.

And who would you women blame when you got lost?

Interesting concept I just can't put my brain around. *L*

Here I didn't think it was that big a concept!! :D

patricej 05-14-2007 02:59 PM

i would know exactly who to blame for getting us lost ... i just can't find him.

I think it was Charlton Heston. About the year I was borned.

tim in san jose (I know where I am)

SandraJennings 05-14-2007 06:32 PM

Tim...darlin'...I see what the problem is....you,too, are under the mistaken idea that because we were with the individual who got lost that we were lost. Au contraire, Women don't get lost. We know where we are...it is everyone elses location we are not sure of.

mpeters1200 05-15-2007 04:42 AM

That's an interesting theory. I know where I am, and I know where I'm going, but if getting from oint A toPoint B involves changing direction at all, I'm busted. I have no internal compass like most people.

It always amazes me to see where some topics begin and where they end up! Amazing how all those twists and turns in conversations (posts) manage to end on the other end of the universe!!! Sure makes life fun!

SandraJennings 05-16-2007 09:43 AM

Indeed ! It doesn't take much labor for us to craft a truly artistic conversation here! Fun adventure to lose yourself into when we choose to journey through the chatter as well.

mpeters1200 05-16-2007 11:49 AM

I like it because while we all have quilting in common, we are not restricted to quilting on the forum. We all let our personalitles out...even Tim who always knows where he is!!

ArtquilterNEWWAYtoQUILT 09-17-2007 07:25 PM
