Woke up with stupid hat on
Cut and sewed only to find out that I cut the strips the backwards. Thank God I had extra fabric. Hate it when I do this. :(
I've had days like that too. I'm happy you were able to have a "save" with the extra fabric!
cut the same piece wrong twice, got a cup of tea and put the stuff away not a day to cut pieces happens like that sometimes
I'm more likely to sew stuff wrong repeatedly vs cutting wrong, although I've done that as well! Happens to the best of us.
I had that kind of day yesterday, trying to paper piece stars. Three times, I placed the fabric to far to one side and had a "hole" in the pattern. I gave up and folded fabric instead. That's the great thing about a stash, there's always some organizing to do.
I hate when I cut it too short. After re-reading the pattern several times.
I cut with my husband. Two people checking directions and measurements is better than one, we've found. Usually don't have too many cutting mistakes now. He doesn't mind running the rotary cutter. Especially when we can use the TruCut rulers and rotary cutters. Saves a lot on my wrists. ;)
I am sorry but how can you cut backwards?
Just look at it as you just started a new scrappy quilt with your "misscuts." :D
Been there, done that. The other day I was trying to make 2 pillowcases to go with the quilt I gave to our DGD at Christmas. Took me 3 days to finally figure the directions and then I wasn't really happy, but she's 3,so I doubt she'll go to the "quilt police". I could blame the directions, but it was most likely the person reading them.
