Yes infinitely better for me. I use them for binding.

I started off the a couple packs of the original red ones, then someone on this site mentioned the 100 in a box of multi-color clips at a great price. Got them and love them. They work just as good as the original at a greatly reduced priced. I use them when hand binding, keeping block sections together. There's so many ways to use them and it keeps me from pricking myself and putting blood on my fabrics.

I just ordered some clips from Amazon for a great price--not original wonder clips. Used them this morning to stitch a sashing. Didn't get pin stuck. Will be using them in the future.

I also bought the knock-offs and have only broken 1--by accidentally stepping on it. I found they are the best thing for holding parts of a bag together while sewing. Perfect in situations where the fabric layer is too thick to pin easily.

That's what I bought too. Boy do they make a difference when I am putting a quilt together. So easy to clip the rows together. And of course for doing the binding, so much faster than pinning.

Thanks everyone!

I used the regular ones a lot. The mini ones are awesome for piecing and they grip tighter than the regular ones I use for binding.

Thanks to someone (don't remember who) I started using the clips instead of pins. What a great idea! When I normally had tiny scratches while sewing with pins holding fabric, I can smoothly remove the clips and no damage.I have to say I do get some of the greatest ideas reading the hints from all of you quilters. Thanks and Merry Christmas!

I think they are. They are flat on one side which makes them hold the fabric really well even if it's a wider binding or pieces. I bought some at quilt show one year. Buy one bag/get on free. I'm sure they are knock offs, but they have worked just fine for years. I've never broken one.
