My quilting buddy/neighbor just called me from our local Walmart and said the fabric is back! I have to get over there in the morning to see what they have. She said there is fabric on the bolt and a cutting table and a lot of fabric! Maybe our emails were read by someone. :-P :-P

lizpatterson1 09-28-2010 07:01 PM

I'll have to check our Wal-marts - thanks for the heads up.

quiltinghere 09-28-2010 07:04 PM

I was at a WallyWorld yesterday and they had PRECUT fabrics...I think it was 2 yard pieces for $5.00.

Didn't buy any.

CarrieAnne 09-28-2010 07:19 PM

So happy for you!

JanTx 09-28-2010 07:25 PM

When ours planned to take it out the Mennonite ladies in our community - who all sew their own clothes - petitioned to have it left in. It was - for now. THat was last year and the current plan will have it removed when the store is remodeled in 2012. Lots can happen between now and then.

luvTooQuilt 09-28-2010 09:19 PM

Yay for you!!! Now send some our way will ya?!?!??! :D

SueDor 09-29-2010 02:14 AM

Good news for you. Went to my walmart this past weekend, no fabric. We do have thread, rulers and batting, so thats good.

shaysmema 09-29-2010 03:32 AM

Sure would be great

Mimito2 09-29-2010 03:47 AM

We have FQ, 2&5 yard cuts but most of the colors are dull or ugly.

tooMuchFabric 09-29-2010 10:58 PM

I do hope this will be a trend in Wal-Mart, to go back to fabrics. We'll see.

hospicenurse 09-30-2010 02:10 AM

yep, I was at Wally World yesterday and they had the bolts at $5.00. Ugly fabric...cotton with poly.

leatheflea 09-30-2010 03:08 AM

Our wal-mart has brought it back also. Precuts and jelly rolls. It's cheap paper thin fabric. When they had a real fabric department I bought fabric all the time. I was very disappointed with the quality, and the selection of prints, all of it was kids print. Hopefully over time the selection will get better.

fabricfairy 09-30-2010 03:09 AM

I just wish Walmart would come down under , I
dont care if it has fabric or not .

reginalovesfabric 09-30-2010 04:56 AM

I called Betonville just two weeks ago and was told there are NO plans to bring fabric back, guess she didn't know what she was talking about......

ewhughe1 09-30-2010 05:01 AM

Our fabric is still in our store. We will be remodeling the first of the year thereabouts and that is when we are suppose to loose our fabric. I hope they change their mind. I would have to drive at least 1 hour to buy fabric. So far Walmart has covered almost everyone of my needs as far as purchases go. I don't want them to change from who they were! I want it to be like it was when Sam was alive! Just think of all the customers that will not drive in traffic because they can not. Who will be there for them and how will they get their fabric.

ewhughe1 09-30-2010 05:09 AM

Ha ha ha! Well it might have been a man!

Where is this WalMart Store

Nolee 09-30-2010 05:24 AM

Have any of you gone to Hobby Lobby? I had no idea until this week that they had fabric and was shocked to find Moda for $6.99. This is in Cumming, Georgia where we are visiting our daughter. We have one at home about 15 miles away but I've never gone since I didn't know they had fabric but it will now be on my schedule for when I get home. Very good quality fabric too.

tooMuchFabric 09-30-2010 05:31 AM

I have gotten a lot of nice fabrics in Hobby Lobby. I did not know they had fabric until 2 years ago, and now they are on my regular prowl.
.

Maureen 09-30-2010 05:33 AM

I found a Wal=Mart in Enfield, Conn. that had tons of fabric and also fat quarters, charm packs and jelly rolls, all at reasonable prices. They even have rotary blades for 3.oo.

Maureen 09-30-2010 05:36 AM

I live close to Savannaha, I wonder if we have a Hobby Lobby?

Lets swamp them with thank you notes!
If it doesn't help our cause at least it will put a smile on their faces.

mimee4 09-30-2010 05:42 AM

Our WalMart still has fabric. Maybe they won't take it out. I hope!

Psychomomquilter 09-30-2010 06:11 AM

I also found out, Clinton,NC is keeping their fabric! an 1 1/2 hour drive, but family lives in the area, so no problem there!
As for Raleigh, some still has fabric, but said they are still going to take it out. yeah maybe it was a man that suggested it.

grannypat7925 09-30-2010 06:59 AM

Hopefully, as California goes, so goes the Nation! Sure hope this is a good omen! We need fabric back in our Walmarts!!

Granny K 09-30-2010 07:00 AM

We have the already cut fabric, I wish they would go back to the bolts. There is one not to far from me that stills has the bolts. But she said as soon as they change the store they will take it out.

I wrote to corporate headquarters and got a letter back that said this is a corporate decision and fabric will not come back no matter how many letters they get. It just was not profitable. Heaven knows the rest of the store is so why couldn't they just leave it alone? Oh well, Hobby Lobby is my new best friend!!

Cottontop 09-30-2010 07:27 AM

Wahoooo!!!! So glad for you. Now to recharge the war over at our Walmart. Good sewing. Sally

Cottontop 09-30-2010 07:28 AM

I got similar response from an email I sent when the fabric first disappeared... Shame on them....Let's ask why again.
