Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! You have just proven to my DD that I am not the ONLY one in the world who uses the term "pocketbook"!
They are very beautiful.
Hugs!

Furza Flyin, my mother used the term all the time, so I still do on occasion, so you are not the only one in the world who calls them that. :)
I prefer one with lots of pockets, myself! LOL

GABBYABBY 07-12-2011 02:09 PM

I love them!!! You have done a marvelous job on
those purses.

pipp5 07-12-2011 02:58 PM

Is #2 one of those that you can switch out the outer covering? If so, was it a fairly easy pattern. I've looked at that one a few times.

ladyshuffler 07-12-2011 03:44 PM

Do you have a pattern to share for these???

Those are very cute. I love making purses. In fact that's what got me back to sewing after 11 years. I ordered a book to make fabric bags/purses and loved sewing again. I have made 1 for myself, 1 for my daugher and 1 for my grandaughter. I have 3 more to make for relatives.

In turn...making those got me to clean out the closest here in my sewing/computer room. Looking at all of the fabric and patterns and supplies got me thinking that I really needed to get back to sewing.

Like others have said...you have a one and only. Unless of course someone else loves the fabric you used and wants one just like it. My daughter wants another one...just like mine.

lucniak 07-13-2011 02:50 AM

neat really like them

anlmlover 07-13-2011 03:10 AM

You are doing a wonderful job. did you mention who the book was that you were getting your patterns from? I love lots and lots of pockets and when the purses are made of fabric they can be washed and hung to dry. I just ordered me a new sewing machine and I just can't wait until it arrives to get started making me a new purse and some small things, I'll be a new sewer and I hope that it will be simple enough for me to catch on to it.

BuzzinBumble 07-13-2011 04:21 AM

Very pretty and practical! I love that you call them pocketbooks. I still do too, and my daughters think it's funny.

Carol W 07-13-2011 04:26 AM

Very nice!!

koko 07-13-2011 04:44 AM

Yours are so lovely. The first purse I made for my DGD I made a lot of mistakes and had to reverse sew (rip-out) many times. By the time I got done with the project I called it the couture bag cause there definitely wasn't another like it!

bobbie1 07-13-2011 04:55 AM

Very nice. First one my favorite. Can you share pattern with us? Thanks

lawsonmugs 07-13-2011 05:26 AM

I like the second one the best with the scalloped denim. Different from alot on here. Mary

lorimax5859 07-13-2011 05:58 AM

Oh my! Those are beautiful :-D

Craftygirl 07-13-2011 06:40 AM

I am an Aussie and I have to be honest - I have never heard of a bag being called a pocketbook. I don't understand why they are called this. Is it because they have lots of pockets? Why "book". Somebody please enlighten me. By the way - they are gorgeous.

grammysharon 07-13-2011 07:00 AM

Very pretty!! :D

Pink Dogwood 07-13-2011 07:06 AM

Love these...You did an awesome job. Especially like the second one with the bottom design and buttons. What pattern is it? Have been looking for one with a removable exterior. I too love making bags bags and more bags of all kinds. Have made bags for years and never tire of them. Never seem to have enough. LOL
