It would be a death sentence if HE even THOUGHT to use my scissors!!!! And there isn't any death sentence in Canada.. But I will start it if I ever caught him with my scissors!!! LOL He knows not to touch anything in my sewing room!!! Don't MESS with me!!! LOL

$25....I have them upwards of $300!

What in the world kind of scissors cost $300? Do you tell them what to cut and they do it by themselves?

My worst was my son cutting guitar strings.

My kids know better, and it helped that for a long time, I didn't have a dedicated sewing space, so when I was done with a project, the scissors got put away with everything else.

Hubby, otoh... The worst I've ever seen is paper and thin plastic. But half of my sewing room is now his work-from-home office so I knew it was just a matter of time. I bought a pair of scissors at Lowes, with 2' of plastic chain, and attached *his* scissors to his desk drawer handle. Since they can't go missing, he's not tempted to use mine.

So far, so good...

My family knows that if the scissors is in the sewing room they DO NOT touch them. I am not a plesent person when I am unhappy and they learned that at a youn age!

My entire family knows they would probably not live thru using my sewing scissors. My kids(now grown) have known since infancy not to ever touch my sewing scissors. I told my DH that he didn't even want to know the replacement cost if he used them. He never touches them.

My husband used them to groom the dogs!!!! After that I bought him a pack of 8 cheap scissors and left a BIG note - "never touch my scissors again".

How do you feel about vinyl flooring? .... Me neither :-(
#$%^&*!@#!!!! DH now knows better - but he still asked for my rotary cutter if it had an OLD blade in it!

I never had an issue at my house personally...BUT... I can still see the look of death on my grandma's face when she noticed her son using her fabric sheers for cutting the heads off, and slicing open the stomachs of smelt to clean them. Oh the chill in the air..and my grandpa just swallowed hard and said..I think I need to go potty..and outside to the outhouse he went. (when he needed a break and wanted to be left alone, he used the outhouse..cuz he knew no one else would)

I don't know who was more upset, him with the pain in his hand or me with the pain of watching my fabulous scissors attempt to cut a fish hook :-(

And you had to do it?
