Oh, yeah, as I said (see the first time I show the back), I would not use any comments without permission. I am just trying to see how it should lay out. Part of what I am writing up are "contracts" of permission for photos and comments.

i'm still trying to figure out why you are using "stained glass" in the title--isn't it just a reverse photo technique?

what did i miss?

I like the photo and quilt illustrations of #5 best.

My idea of "stained glass" is different from what you are presenting.

On #5 - I also agree that the title of the book is the last think I noticed.

shoot me a PM so I remember you want to volunteer. I was thinking I would make up several generics (ex: adorable baby, cute puppy etc) that would be patterns included in the book, and those I will need to have quilts made. I thought it would be a good way to get feed back, to give someone the instructions, then have them make a quilt to be photographed for the book gallery, with the exchange of a discount on the finished book.

Another option, I had not thought of til you mentioned this - maybe a opaque cover with the quilt lines over the photograph? Lift the opaque cover to see only the quilting lines, and look at the bottom cover to see only the photo. Lay them together to see how the photo changes into the quilting lines!

I agree!

I like the softness of #1. The edges are too sharp on the others. I like that the fabric shows thru on the sleeve and othre places to soften it. Jan

When I look at quilt books, I like to see a finished product. Especially if it is a technique I am not familiar with. I am assuming the stained glass comes in because of the openness of the final design?
It is lovely and looks like fun to do.
