love your choices..
Absolutely, it makes everything pop!

I think that a green would really set the pink off. In other words it would be a wonderful contrast. Jeanniebelle

I think the selection is perfect. Very beautiful. Did you buy all this fabric at walmart? Was it a supercenter? The fabric dept. at my little neighborhool walmart doesn't have anything like this. I have never checked out the fabric dept. at the supercenter which is at least 20 miles from my house and I only buy groceries there occasionally.
Beautiful color selection. You could possibly even add a small bit of cream to break up the pinks. Just a thought.
I like what you have... :)

Sounds to me like the dark green would be suitable for a mini border, or "sparkle" between the pinwheels and the outer border. The quilt would still have the soft baby look, but the dark green would set off lovely print, and contain the pinwheels to the quilt top. Otherwise, they might disappear into the border. I would want to lay it out with color options before deciding on a binding, but my first thought would be the mint.
After re-reading your intent, if the floral is used as the backing, that may be the better fabric to also use as a mini border, and forget the dark green. I was struck by what gorgeous pinwheels the floral would make, and how the darker green would set it off. Are we safe to assume that you'll be decorating her room in pinks also? She's a lucky little lady already. The fabric selection is simply lovely. |
I would use what you have shown. Beautiful fabrics!
I think a green fabric would add a lot to the quilt. If you feel the green you are showing does not work for you, maybe you can find one that works better.
No adding green. This is a great selection just as it is and will be a soft and feminine quilt.
I would use all of the fabrics shown. It will give the quilt a nice variation of color. The 3-D pinwheels will be wonderful with these colors!
Love your fabrics-stay with what you've got.
Definitely use the green! It makes the other colors pop.
Lol, we all have diffrent opinions....I would stay with what you have. PRETTY!!!!!!!!
very pretty fabric .
I think if you are nervous about the green now, it won't get better! If you go for another green such as a soft batik it would be fine, but the selection you have is beautiful.
I don't think I would bring in another green. This combination look good to me.
the fabrics in the picture look lovely if that is the green then go with it
I agree with Mom-6 - if the greens are the ones picture then yes use them, but I would add anything else
Love the fabrics you have chosen.

Anyhow I'd like to make a 3d pinwheel like I've seen in the tutorial section for my baby girl who's due the end of April. I'm going to use the floral and dark pink for borders and backing, and the other fabrics for the pinwheels. Do you think I should add some green to this? My only concern is the green that goes with this collection is a lot more vibrant than the green in the leaves and vines of the floral. Or do you think it's fine alone with just the fabrics shown? |
I would like to see a darker green in it
Please, show us the other green or we have no basis for opinions.
I like to use a darker color in my borders, even if its only 1/2" on an inner border... |
I like the ones in your picture.
I would definitly have a one of the borders be green even if it is just a narrow border. Otherwise it will be a very pink project.
I love your fabrics. I would add the green that borders on lime green. I think it would add a fun pop of color and since it is part of the collection, I'd trust that it will look great when finished.
Very nice fabric choices, I think the green should be added, its a pretty soft color but would add a lot.
I think the fabrics in the photo go beautifully together.
I like the green too!! Such sweet baby colors!!
I wouldn't add the green. I would keep it the pastels. It will be beautiful when your done.
I love your fabrics, I think the green would add to your choice, but either way it will be beautiful.
Kathy Kat what size blocks are those on your quilt and do you have pattern
Maybe would depend on the pattern you are using, but I think a green in the quilt would be nice.

Beautiful combination of fabrics.
I like the colors that you have shown here. Depending upon the pattern I might add a white or an off-white somewhere, depending upon which the light color in your focal fabric is. That would really make the pinks and greens "pop". Beautiful colors, I love pink and green.
beautiful soft colors, and yes the green should be added. That's my opinion!
I, too, like all the colors you've chosen, including the green, if that's the green you're talking about. I think I saw those fabrics in Wal*Mart today.
You can always go by the color dots on your floral. But, from your picture it looks as if what you have laid out looks fine to me. I can see the lime green in the floral, but that does not seem to me to go with the green you have laid out.
Your choices look good for a baby. |
By all means add green...........green is the complementary color to the red family. It will be striking!
