When buying fabric at either JoAnn's Hobby Lobby or a lqs I watch what is being cut, sometimes I ask them to remeasure it to make sure the yardage is right for me and the store. A few extra inches can add up as a huge loss for a store.

I just received a package of stuff I ordered at Joanns (free shipping, since they closed a local Joanns that requires me to go across town to one is what I do now) and again, each piece of fabric is wrapped in plastic???? and with 2 was this note:

Bonus Yardage Included! Because less than 1 yard of fabric remained on the bolt after filling your order, the additional yardage has been included at no cost to you.

Each piece has 10 -12 inches added to what I ordered

Shopped at Hancocks Saturday since they were having 40-50 off some fabrics. I heard the girl tell a customer they have to now charge for the sample piece and they no longer can cut beyond the requested amount. But I do make sure the fabric is squared up correctly so that I get an exact yard and not less due to slanted cutting.
