Hahahahahahaha

Lyncat 12-15-2012 06:08 AM

I needed a good laugh this morning! I think Santa is moving your daughter to the NAUGHTY list!!!

meanmom 12-15-2012 06:36 AM

OMG funny. I just finish a donation quilt that is meander all over. I will have to look at it for body parts. It is for a co-worker who needs a kidney transplant. Everyone at work will die laughing if it has body parts. My mom would be horrified if hers had body parts, although she would never notice. She just doesn't think that way.

sewbizgirl 12-15-2012 07:13 AM

We need to see it to decide if it's anything to worry about or just your kid's dirty mind!

Steady Stiching 12-15-2012 07:14 AM

Well...I wouldn't touch it....I'd just ccomment on where here daughters mind is at LOL! CHances are good no one but you will see it.

karenpatrick 12-15-2012 07:33 AM

Pictures, please!! LOL

IowaStitcher 12-15-2012 07:34 AM

Or, perhaps you could continue the theme and add other parts- feet, hands, ears, noses, whatever..............

k9dancer 12-15-2012 09:44 AM

You could have said, "Really? I was going for antlers."

mimiknoxtaylor 12-15-2012 10:00 AM

Your daughter sounds like my daughter! My boys are the ones who never let me forget things like this-of course they embellish the stories & after years they believe their version instead of my-which is the truth. We do have lots of laughs though.

I would have left it .
(notice too that your initials in your screen name were my initials too before I got married - tjk

KarenR 12-15-2012 10:08 AM

Kids see what they want.
Better have the Birds and Bees talk with her again.
LOL - YOur mom maybe would've loved it.

JanieH 12-15-2012 10:34 AM

What a great story! Depending on the person that the quilt is going to, this could give rise to a whole new meaning of personalizing the quilt!

I went to a wedding shower and my sister had given homemade jams and pickles etc for the prizes. I won a jar of pickles and when we looked at it, one of the pickles on the side had formed into a perfect replica of man parts. She never noticed it when she canned them.
We won't eat the pickles because it is too fun having them on the shelf as a chuckle.

Greenheron 12-15-2012 11:09 AM

I wonder, are they "at ease" or "at attention"?

omaluvs2quilt 12-15-2012 11:14 AM

Ok ladies, you have no idea how badly I needed that chuckle this morning...quite entertaining!!!

How hard can it be? I've watched friends do it lots of times. I thought it was going pretty well until my daughter ( she's 21) pointed out that some of the meandering looked like anatomically correct male parts! OMG! I am currently tearing it out and tomorrow taking it to an experienced friend to finish (very kind of her) I need to think of an excuse... honestly
meandering looked so easy. I believe I will start to practice on paper! Blushing....

Okay I'm sorry about your x-rated meandering....but this is the funniest thing I've heard in awhile. Oh man I can just picture them. Thanks for sharing and the chuckle.

I decided to take a break from grading essays on The Scarlet Letter when I came across this thread. Best thing I've read all day. Thanks for the laugh.

skowron5 12-15-2012 12:29 PM

What a great post. I think we can all use a laugh today. Thanks for sharing.

mdall 12-15-2012 12:31 PM

OH my, I have been practicing at meandering and never really looked at the stitches to see what they formed. Maybe I should pay closer attention would hate to give that to someone who couldnt find the humor in it. After all I would have thought of it as completely accidental and histerical at the same time.

LOL been there done that also 7fingers hands and swans altho they look nice but if I had to fma swan bet it wouldn't turn out I'm still learning fm myself

quiltingshorttimer 12-15-2012 01:49 PM

What a hoot! I do know what you mean though, sometimes meandering/stippling takes on some weird shapes! I was working on a Grinch quilt last Christmas for son and his family and SO bored that I started FMQing their names in cursive--this was after practically falling asleep at the machine. Was so proud until I realized it woudl be upside down on the wall hanging! We just talked about it this year and I pointed that out--My son could see where I had meandered Merry Christmas--left them with something to think about! :)

nstitches4u 12-15-2012 08:00 PM

I am sitting here reading QB and laughing hysterically. DH wanted to know what was so funny. lol I have been practicing FMQing. I need to practice a lot more and check my meandering carefully. lol

SewMomma66 12-15-2012 08:34 PM

Very funny! You may never live this down. That's ok. You will laugh about it forever.

Pat625 12-15-2012 09:47 PM

BTW..My kids think I am crazy sitting at the computer laughing with tears running down my face!!

q.alba 12-16-2012 05:13 AM

What a way to start the morning! Thanks for the laugh!

I think there is future quilt/wallhanging for this daughter with a certain kind of meandering? What about a lap quilt?

I'm the kind of girl that would be highly entertained if such a thing accidentally showed up in one of my quilts. I'd probably give it to my mother and see how long it would take her to notice it. :D

me too although i may not be able to wait long enough for her to figure it out.

Pat625 12-16-2012 07:51 AM

Could we make this our next contest/challenge???

glenda5253 12-16-2012 04:22 PM

This is TOO funny all be it at your expense. Sounds like something I would inadvertently do. Good luck!

Silver Needle 12-16-2012 06:19 PM

I just created a meander pattern as background fill for appliqué etc. to digitize for computer quilters like myself with Intelliquilter This was so funny! But I am going to go check my design for any "unusual" looking elements.

sewdamncute 12-16-2012 06:24 PM

That is so funny! I'd better go check my meandering!

cathyvv 12-16-2012 06:56 PM

Depends on who the quilt is for, don't you think?
