Always!

It'sJustMe 10-20-2011 03:26 AM

Umm, recently. But it was such a fabulous inky blue batik, I knew whatever wasn't used in the quilt would end up in my clothes closet.

I ALWAYS DO NO MATTER WHAT

Joset 10-20-2011 03:30 AM

I usually alway do buy more.

memepat 10-20-2011 03:32 AM

If it is on the bolt I buy it. I have run short too often and then can't get the fabric. Also, in the middle of the stream I may change what I'm doing and need more fabric. Always happy to add to the stash. haha

CompulsiveQuilter 10-20-2011 03:34 AM

I buy 15% more than I need, for shrinkage and boo-boos. Never been sorry.

coachmatthewsvhs 10-20-2011 03:35 AM

I'm in!

mummadee 10-20-2011 03:41 AM

Me, there's always the chance that I'll misscut something then run short.

QuiltMom2 10-20-2011 03:42 AM

Guilty (which explains why my stash runneth over!!)

jitkaau 10-20-2011 03:52 AM

Can't afford to.

Jan in FL 10-20-2011 03:52 AM

Yep! Every time!

peppermint31 10-20-2011 03:55 AM

Yes I do. sometimes the pattern is wrong so I would rather be safe than sorry. I made a quilt from a pattern in an old book and they had forgot one whole section in the star. I hadn't been quilting very long and was so confused that I drove over to my neighbor's house, laid it all out on her floor and we decided that if I made another section that everything would fit just fine. Always, sometimes I just buy the end of the bolt.

I am with you on this lol

joycecil 10-20-2011 04:25 AM

Always.

veryvirginia 10-20-2011 04:30 AM

Guilty as charged. I always see another quilt coming on when I buy fabric.

catladyquilts 10-20-2011 04:37 AM

depends on how much I like it and the price. most of the time I "shop" in my store and can make just about any pattern I've found. in the rare cases I have to go shopping, I still add extra to the stash.

WMUTeach 10-20-2011 04:45 AM

I do! It allows for errors or better yet sets me up for quick baby quilts, small projects and of course ........ another scrappy quilt or two or three.

newquilter10 10-20-2011 04:52 AM

I do for two reasons, fear of not having enough and it helps me build stash.

Linda

dilyn 10-20-2011 04:54 AM

Always!

mjsylvstr 10-20-2011 05:03 AM

not always........just occasionally.......

Jackie Spencer 10-20-2011 05:14 AM

I would rather have to much then not enough!

quiltaroni 10-20-2011 05:14 AM

Another guilt trip for today, enough already!!!!

mucky 10-20-2011 05:18 AM

always.

lauriequilts 10-20-2011 05:23 AM

Usually 1/4 yard extra unless I really like the fabric, then it depends on how much I like it!

boomer47 10-20-2011 05:26 AM

Always!!!

maryb119 10-20-2011 05:26 AM

Guilty!!!! I add it to my stash.

EagarBeez 10-20-2011 05:40 AM

I usually buy a little extra fabric for a project. I don't live near any quilt shops or other places that carry fabric.

JusticeClan 10-20-2011 05:43 AM

I'm quilty !!

Tinabodina 10-20-2011 05:45 AM

If I really, really like the fabric, I will buy up to 1 yard more

Sally Dolin 10-20-2011 05:45 AM

You girls make me giggle with all the reasons for buying extra. If I like it I buy 3 yards min. If I really like it I buy 5, If I love it I buy 10. If the bolt is low I buy all of it. No more excuses for me. I love my fabric, enjoy looking at it like a fine painting, enjoy touching it. It gives me joy and comfort and keeps me out of the bars. I don't drink so that isn't so hard, but it works for me.

Ttime 10-20-2011 06:03 AM

Always!! Extra is needed.....(wanted;-)

Ann912 10-20-2011 06:34 AM

I usually buy 1/2 yard extra.

mim 10-20-2011 06:37 AM

isn't that how we build a stash?? :-)

I always buy some xtra yardage & if I dont use it because of changes to the pattern of the quilt I may make pillow shams to go with the quilt or a couple of toss pillows. I have also made dust ruffles or valance to match a few quilts. If anything else it helps build the stash! LOL

kristakz 10-20-2011 06:40 AM

I usually add up to 1/2 yard to my purchase, just to make sure I don't run out and to allow for shrinkage in pre-washing. I've been working hard to reduce my stash, and am down to a very small number of pieces (yardage) now. But my LQS is having a sale this week - finish the bolt and get 20% off. I suspect I may be increasing my stash on Saturday :)

sabaker39 10-20-2011 06:42 AM

I almost always buy more. My excuse is that I may make a mistake and want to be sure I have enough. My stash grows.

unclefreckles 10-20-2011 06:56 AM

sounds just like me!!!
