Yellow Brick Road is not only easy, it's very forgiving. I kept messing up the blocks but when it was assembled looked perfect.

The star part has an extended background that you trim back to the correct size after piecing. Then it's bordered all the way around with rectangles. Very pretty, I've done several.

The first two quilts I made were Yellow Brick Road and Lucky Stars! Made them at the same time for my twin grandsons. Guess the LQS employee knew what she was doing when she recommended these!

Her patterns in general are fun. The Lucky Stars is wonderful, since you don't have to match those points! :)
Happy sewing, and please share pics! :)

Sure i will post pictures when complete. Thanks.

First quilt I made was Rails pattern ... three fabrics, and very forgiving. In fact, I made one in class and one at the same time at home. When I finished, I had two quilts. If I can make it, I know you can. Welcome, to the wonderful world of quilting and your new friends on the Board!

there is also a free brick road pattern at the following link. I am working on one myself for a friend's daughter to take to college with her.
