I would quilt the border in 'piano keys' to break the floral and connect geometrically with the main portion. No, it may not be what you imagined but that does not mean it does not work! I agree also! The colors are correct. You have some of the same scale fabrics in the body of the quilt, another go! Choose the red will bring it all together. What a wonderful retirement gift, from the heart.

I would choose the dark green for the border. But I just love the colors in the quilt top. Great job

I like it, but I think I would cut the border down to be the width of the smaller rectangles in the pattern. Then maybe even add some of the green fabric as a third border.

Lots of opinions here. If it doesn't jive with you then change it. Your opinion is the only one that counts.

I love it!!! Use a nice standout (like the orange or dark brown) color for the binding and brown thread for quilting and you will have done a super job!!!

I think it looks just fine.........just my humble opinion.....

Why not audition a dark solid green? I think a solid green next to the thin orange would look fine, but I agree it is too busy.

I think it looks pretty good....the orange inner border sets the center apart from the border. I suppose size will have something to do with it? Also, depending what you plan to use for the back and binding will make a difference. Have you planned for those and if so, will you share?

IMHO I like it as is. I would maybe bind it with the narrow orange border color.

Well I ended up taking the border off, just did not like it. It will end up on the back somehow.
I had enough of the orangey floral to come uo with a more narrow border, so that.s what I did. I will post pics when I am done
