I think gray, or I've also heard it called steel, is really in right now. And with yellow, it's a great match.

The red rooster fabrics site had a free quilt pattern using their grey and yellow geometrics fabrics.

Red rooster also has a fabric line Modern Noir that is predominantly grey, yellow and black. Not a new line so not sure of its availability - I bought it on line.

This is gorgeous! Can't wait to see the quilt you make with these. Also, excellent, how your points come together !

Thanks! I made the second block last night and i'm not as crazy about it but I think in the whole quilt it will look fine. It's a block of pinwheels and one of them didn't turn out so hot but the rest look find. I think it's the issue of so many seams in such a little space ...

I doubt it. some of the colors/fabric pattern combos we use today may not be in vogue 20 years from now especially all of the modern fabric prints and colors. But who will really care. Hopefully these quilts will be well loved and worn that anyone who looks at it will know it was a favorite in its time.

I love the yellow and grey combination and have at least one fabric with it. But I wonder, in 20 years will someone look at a yellow/grey quilt and say, oh, that one's from 2014? (I wouldn't care if that happened, just wondering...)
