I always tell my students to stay with one brand. Nice to have it verified.

Yes - never switch the rulers around within the one project. Always use the same measuring device throughout. You will always stay out of trouble that way. Also look directly over the point that you are measuring to so that you avoid parallax error as well.

Always us he same ruler throughout the quilt. Also, buy yourself a new 5 by 24 inch ruler every two or three years as they do develop a 'bow' after a lot of use.

I hadn't thought to check my rulers against each other. I did toss one where the manufacturer thought it was a good idea to add 1/4" for me....screwed me up so many times!!!!

I am going to check on my rulers. I bought one at a garage sale that a seamstress that passed away (friend also..miss her). Bought the other from another sale.

It's like buying clothes, ladies. If it isn't made by the same maker, it might not fit.There is no standard of measurerment.It's to bad someone hasn't corrected that by now but it's true. If rulers aren't made by the same company, your quilt pieces might not fit togeter. Sure upsettingto find that out the hard way.
