I like doing it all. Sometimes I'd rather be piecing, sometimes I'd rather be quilting, sometimes embellishing or binding. Just depends on my mood.

I am a quilter. I like the whole process of quilting. I am not to good at quilting yet.
I am still learning. I like to do free motion quilting all so. I enjoy this board. I learn
a lot from everyone. Thank you all for helping me improve my quilting skills.

I love almost all of the process in making a quilt EXCEPT SANDWICHING the quilt. I guess maybe I'm too impatient and want the quilt done, but I really don't like the sandwiching of quilts, I don't even mind the binding. Maybe that's why I have so many UFO's, can't get enough motivation to sandwich and quilt them. Although, in my defense, in the last 2 years I have had my right shoulder replaced, after having the torn rotator cuff repaired a year before that, then after recovering from that I had a series of falls that ended me in the hospital twice and 2 months of Rehab, so my sewing/quilting days were numbered. I'm happy to say that I'm back to quilting again, and I'm much happier.

I'm a piecer. I did one free motion quilt and decided it was like driving on an LA freeway during rush hour. I gripped those handles like my life depended on it. Way too stressful for me. I'm happy to pay the long armer.

I am both a piecer and quilter. To me my quilts are art, so the quilting is part of the quilt. I have been learning free motion quilting as a way to enhance the quilt.
I looked up the Singer S18 to see what it was. It looks like my Janome 6600 with out the even feed foot attached. I looked up the manual also and it is almost the same. I like my 6600, got it for the large harp space to do free-motion quilting on, and free hand embroidery. I like that I can lower the feed dogs and have room to work. I need lots more practice doing free motion sewing. There is lots of potential for many things.

Piecer here. I have been battling this idea the last couple of days and came to the conclusion that the creative flow of designing and piecing is what feeds my soul. But, I have to quilt my tops since the cost is to high for by quilting budget. So I will start piecing one top while quilting one on the frame. This allows me to have one designing and one quilting at the same time. No UFO for me.

I love the designing and piecing. The quilting on my DSM is difficult for me due to physical issues. Were that not the case, I think I would enjoy that part a lot more. I do machine binding so I enjoy that too, especially now that I have learned the faster and easier ways to do it. I know I am at the finish line.

I find that my UFOs come from tops I make because I want to learn or try a new technique rather than those I make to gift to family and as comfort quilts. Those never become UFOs. Most often, I like the way my experiments come out, but never seem to have time or inclination to finish one to keep for myself. When I pull one out to finish, it's because I've decided to gift it. Believe me those are never easy decisions. I am always giving away a piece of my heart!

Same here. I used to always be more focused on the pattern and fabric choices. Now I find myself looking at FMQ patterns and quilting choices.

I did just finish my largest top EVER. (Haven't measured but I think it will come in around 90x115) This will be a challenge.

I am a fabric collector and play in my fabric. Then I love to piece Only machine quilt small wall hangings.

I love to see a design come together -- right now, I'm just waiting to finish a quilt -- I put the blocks (truly heirloom - embroidered State Flower Blocks done by my 89 year old Aunt, probably 20 + years ago. I put in the sashing and borders, made a matching bedskirt, and matching pinch-pleat drapes and valance. Once my cousin finishes quilting the quilt and I get the binding completed, I'm going to re-do my son's room with the heirloom quilt, bed skirt and drapes.
