I love remnants, especially from the consignment shop in the town that dh goes to the dr. All remnants are $1.00 each and some of them have up to 3 yards. Now that is what I call a REMNANT.LOL, I recently spent $4.00 for a little over 6 yds. of new fabric.

Ditto for me- I've found that they aren't as marked down as they used to be. I did find some quilt kits on half price at ACMoore recently, so I picked one that I liked and got 4 1/2 yd pieces and 1 1yd piece that work together for a good price. That was my deal of the summer ;)

I admit I'm a bolt end junkie! However it has led to a stash that is less than cohesive...I think I need not buy anything but blenders for a long time.

I always have been. When my kids were little (35-40 yrs ago), one of the stores would hold back their remnants until I looked through them. I was able to get little jumpers or dresses out of some of them. Today the first thing I do when I go to one of the LQS nearby is to go through their remnants. They have them nicely folded and when you check out they lay them side by side and charge 3.95 a yard. I love it!

NOOO!!! I am not a junkie I am the QUEEN of remnants. I once worked for JoAnns and the rest of the staff used to make "fun" of me because I could buy fabric out of the remnant bin and make an entire outfit. Of course this was when color blocking was quite popular and in fashion. However I find that this is coming around again. I have of course continued with the theme in my quilts and I love it. I once bought a remnant at a store in San Francisco that was 2 1/2 yards long and the original tag said $30.00 per yard and I got the 2 1/2 yds for about $10.00 I think that was a bargain. I still wear the outfit that I made from that fabric and still get compliments on it.

I tend to look for bolts almost empty when I'm at joanns. When I see a fabric I want, I look to see if there's another one there with less fabric. I'll ask for a yard, knowing there's only a half or so left so I can get the rest at 50%.

Absolutely! I seem to always find a use for them in one of my donation quilts.

Another place to check is Walmart at the clearance sales . Some of the clothes that are cotton especially the dresses and men's shirts you can get a good deal. I check all places for cotton clothing. If it's decent weight I will buy it. Even JCPenney's and Sear's. If the price is right. It comes home with me. LOL
